I'll be there, riding a yellow 04 GSXR 600 with yellow wheels. I just hope the weather cooperates because I'm not going to enjoy myself if it rains. I only live 24 miles from the track so I'll be there whichever day the weather is better. :)

I've been to Pocono before but I've never rode a full trackday before, only "Intro" sessions with TPM and NESBA. I had a lot of fun in the NESBA beginner group running FUSA and did very well. I can't wait to get back on the track, even though Pocono isn't the best. I'm also looking forward to NJMP in June, both Thunderbolt and Lightning.

Btw, did anyone notice that the "Schedule & Pricing" page shows that they are combining groups?

    Novice 1, Novice 2 & Intermediate/Advance Combined

Does this mean there will be only two groups - Novice 1/2 and Intermediate/Advanced?

Welcome, Its going to be a great weekend, the weather report is looking good but you can never tell at pocono it could rain everywhere but there.

I believe there will be two novice groups, one with classroom instruction for beginner novices and another for novices who have a few trackdays under thier belt and want to ride with novice passing rules but want less instruction. I highly recomend the the classroom instuction, the coaches really know their stuff and have been doing this for years.

    see you there,
    Kevin

you might be surprised how much you might enjoy riding in the rain. It's the ultimate test of your skills and rewards "smooth." personally, I enjoy it! (but I still prefer sunny & 78).
Have fun guys, I'm out for the season.

I don't have enough track experience to be riding the rain and I have no desire to be wet or dirty. I've only gotten caught in the rain less than a handful of times on my bike since I bought it brand new. That was 24k miles ago!

I just sure hope the weather cooperates.

BS. it rained on my 2nd or third track day & I was, uhhh... not what you would call a "naturally gifted" student. I learned tons that day and I strongly advocate riding in the rain to everyone for what it will teach you. the only extra gear you need is a cheap rainsuit. don't be such a sissy- you won't believe how much fun it can be unless you try it.

I'll be going for my first ever track days. I'm hoping for good weather but I am going to wall mart to pick put one of those 10 dollar rain suits that will fit over my leather suit. I hope those things work.

So far, it looks like Saturday is going to be the better day. Friday will be clear and everything should dry up.

I will be there too [ P.S. Sat] and expect the weather to be good too; however, Pocono has good traction in the wet, when it rains. This is one advantage to an abrasive track.

    Some rain gear advice:

Rain-X on the outside of the visor

If you don't have an anti-fog shield (such as Scorpion makes) buy the glue on Fog City liner as they work great (keep the rain out and only clean this liner with water or soap and water, Windex will ruin it) an alternative is the anti-fog coatings and if you don't have an anti-fog coating use soap. Make a lather of soap and apply it to the inside of the shield as if you are waxing your bike. Once it dries rub it with a dry soft cloth until smooth, shiney and clear. Fresh coatings of both work great. To aid the Rain-X repelling water, when on a straight simply turn your head left and right quickly and the wind will blow nearly all the water off your visor.

A Respro Breath Gard works too.

A good rain suit is made by Respro.

Cheap rain cover alls work too. Anything is better than nothing to keep most of the water off your leathers. Wet leather is heavy and leather shrinks when it dries.

Use large latex gloves over your leather gloves to keep your hands and gloves dry (and thusly warm).
a 2nd advantage to the latex glove is it makes a perfect visor wiper, use the index finger as a windshield wiper to clear water and dirt off the visor.

If you have the money, rain tires. They ARE that good.

Rain is good to temper the machismo effect and teaches SMOOTH.
