What a weekend! Started off with a wet Friday and early morning shower on Saturday which caused for a careful first few sessions on Sat. After the sun came out, the track dried and the pace went up! It was a fun track to learn with the help of Marc & Trevor - Note to self.... if you plan to go on an off road excursion - it may be best that you don't do it in front of the man himself (Trevor) as he's chasing you down Great hospitality, great company and some great times on track! Very few flags and many well deserved bumps for some riders! Marc, thanks for the tow, pit time fun and food; fantastic as always sir! Trevor and Cyndi many thanks to you as well! If you haven't been to CMP, it is well worth it!
I will second that. It was my first time to the track as well. Had an absolute amazing weekend. The Duc wore me out but enjoyed every minute of it. This track has the funnest last turn ever, couldn't keep the front wheel down. The Saturday fly by of jets was sweet also. Thanks STT and staff...
I would like to thank the Lead Instructors this weekend Great job and thanks to Jim for helping in Novice with Ed and Mcormick for helping in intermediate. Super weekend with great weather and fun times
Awesome time for sure Juan... Despite the grinding in the TLR's tranny... It's good to have multiple bikes for that reason alone... Great weekend, company and track time... Road America in 2 weeks!
Great weekend, my first time to CMP and I really enjoyed the track. As for the usual suspects.... good times!
My first time to CMP. I really liked the track a lot. I thought Tally ate tires like crazy, but then I went to CMP. I will be bringing some take offs to burn next time.
I made the mistake of thinking Sat was going to be a wash and Sunday I would turn it up (didn't bring my other set of tires).... Nope, Saturday turned out great and I had no grip on the right side and sadly Stick had no Pirelli's
Come prepared. It rarely rains at the track in comparison to when it is forecasted. The forecast was for 100 percent and 60 percent of rain. No one drop fell. 2 perfect days.
I actually had a new set of SC1 DOT's with me but held out till mid day Sunday to throw them on. I rode my SC1 slick till it was getting sketchy going through the back kink. I am glad I held out cause the track chews up DOT's even quicker.
This was my first time at this track as well and I look forward to returning sometime in the future. Saturday turned out to be a great time because the weather cooperated, the track is very fun, the other riders were track courteous ("nice") and fast. In order to learn this track I tagged along for several sessions with control rider Eric McCormack (McCormick? you'd think I'd know how to properly spell his name since it was on the back of his shirt lol!). I appreciated his attitude and coaching! Especially since I was being a sissy with back pain, wrist pain, and brain farts like arriving with only two left hand gloves..........one a gauntlet race type, the other a Gerbings heated glove lol. But the folks at STT loaned me a set to get me through the day.........so thanks to everyone on staff and fellow riders for keeping this sport fun and safe.
My first time at CMP also and first time with STT, and by far has been my best trackday thus far!! Met some great people, learned a lot from coaches and other riders, and got to move up to Intermediate. Im addicted to track duty all over again, thanks for a great weekend guys and gals, cant wait for the next one. Gotta get me some more Pirelli's lol!!
