    Hi everyone!

I am considering doing my first track day and I want to make sure all of my gear is safe. I currently have TCX X-Cubed boots http://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/tcx-x-cube-boots

Any opinions on whether or not these would be safe (or even pass tech) for my first track day?

After your first track day you will be hooked. If you plan on doing a lot more track days even in novice group I would suggest getting quality gear. The safer the better. You never know when you might take a tumble always good to be well prepared.

Those will be fine. If you want I have a pair of Bilt boots on here for sale if they are your size.

Unless you plan to do only one track day (good luck with that) I would be looking for a boot with a little more ankle protection and a toe slider. If your on a budget the Coretech Latigo is a good starter. If you can swing the TCX S or SIDI Fusion's they are great trackday boots.

Thanks for all the input! I'll probably ride my current boots for my first day and save my pennies for a pair of more appropriate boots. Currently most of my spare cash is going into disposables for the bike (tires, pads, chain, sprockets, etc) to get it track worthy. I only started riding at the beginning of this season and my first bike has needed some wrenching, which I do enjoy. The addiction is definitely taking hold and I imagine riding on the track will only fuel it.
