Hi, all. I've just come off of my first three track days. Two were at Talladega and the last was at Barber. What a blast that was! So, now I have the hankerin' for more and need something closer to home. (Alabama's a little too far from my home in Connecticut). I would like to learn more and improve. Is the Pro School doable and a good idea for the new-ish Novice? I felt really comfortable at Barber after the first session, but... My biggest problems are: - how to read and look through the turn - always feel like I'm carrying too much speed going into a turn, so I brake too much and go in slower than the rest of the crowd. - too much 40 something self-preservation...need to trust my bike more - a dozen other problems, I'm sure. Thanks for your two-cents worth! Brad
The STT PRO SCHOOL is run at your pace. The school is limited to about 15 students so it can accommodate students of all levels. If you are a competent motorcycle rider and comfortable in the track environment then the school would be good for you. Kevin #609 STT PRO SCHOOL Instructor
Thanks guys. I'll check my work schedule tomorrow to see if I can sneak out for that Monday. I'm psyched. I talked my wife into allowing me to do the track days down South, since her family lives near by. After it was all over and we were driving back to CT, that's all we talked about for the whole trip...especially how neat Barber was. Hopefully I'll see you there!
Okay, I signed up. Have mercy on my sorry, slow derriere. I'm looking forward to the learning experience and to riding MMC. I'm hoping to squeeze a few more days before that cold weather sets in. If only work didn't get in the way. Cheers! Brad
Son of a ....! My bike is broke...don't think I'll get it fixed in time for the Pro School. Damn work is getting in the way. I have a CEL with a fault code calling out the fuel pump relay and a ground short somewhere. I have to try and squeeze in time to figure it out. Hopefully I can avoid a visit to the dealership. Brad
Okay...the waffle is strong with me. The bike seems to have healed itself and I'm back on for the Pro School. Just gotta throw some new rubber on...and calm my nerves. See ya! Brad
