I ran Corsa III's at Grattan. I started with 30front / 32 rear and never changed them all day. I'm sure I could have benefitted from lower pressures, but I didnt' change anything throughout the day. -T
With the Pros and the new Supercorsa's, we run 32/29 hot, as recommended by them. Pirelli recommends setting hot pressures instead of cold pressures. We generally start around 32/29 cold, and then drop them down after the first session or two. We've also ran 33 in the front, or 28 in the rear, depending on conditions, tire wear, etc.
Just want to confirm the above PSI info, this is from a Pirelli tire tech? I was under the impression these ran at least 2/4# higher PSI's? Thanks K
Eddie, I ran a new set of Corsa IIIs at Pocono East last Monday at a track day. I ended up with about a 1.5 to 2 inch wide flat spot on my rear tire about 3 inches from the very edge of the left side of the tire. Pocono East is primarily a left hand turn track. Its not a hot or cold tear (I've had those before)....and my suspension is set up professionally. It was a hot day (90 degrees outside) and I set my cold PSI at 32/32 and left it there...didn't check my hot PSI as I should have been. I know the hot PSI range for those tires is 34.5 to 36. Would that flat spot indicate that I maybe exceeded the heat range of those tires?? And if so, should I scrap the rear for a new tire...even though it only has about 250 total miles on it?
