If it is your first time using gp shift try to remember SLOW UP. That's what I would keep saying in my head when coming up to a corner to remember to shift up to slow down.
Good reminder. I switch bikes and shift patterns all the time. What I do is leave my foot in the position I need to shift while accelerating. Then when I have to downshift, I move my foot, shift and put it back.
I'm a NESBA orphan (our region was disbanded) and I just spent the past year relocating to St Louis so I'm just now getting time to maybe salvage a few track days before the season‘s over. I may be able ride with STT for the first time Saturday. Are there any differences between NESBA and STT I need to be prepared for? In reading the FAQ's there doesn't appear to be any. My bike was prepped to CCS specs. I’ve got full gear - one piece leathers, back protector, boots, gloves, uncrashed helmet. I've been to Putnam once before a couple years ago and remember there's no power outside the garages and we have to be out by 6:00(?).
Thanks for the tips. I got the nod at Grattan to move up to A, but I wanted to get the GP shift down before making the move. I'll be going out in the back of I and taking my time getting used to the change. Hopefully it doesn't take all weekend to break a 26 year habit.
If you passed tech with Nesba, you will be good. Biggest difference is they only tech the first day. You don't have to re-tech on Sunday morning. Several of us orphans will be there.
Awesome - thank you. Looks like the STT season in this area ends in August so I'm trying to make it to either Putnam or Autobahn.
