    2007 GSX-R600 (1/4 turn to WOT)

I'm having trouble reaching WOT for straights without moving my hand on the throttle.
I see on the interweb that some people are simply exchanging the stock throttle housing for an R1 or R6 housing. I believe the R1 has a 1/5 turn and the R6 has a 1/6 turn. I could be wrong.

I want your advice on the simplest way to make a mod that allows me to get to WOT without moving my hand.

    thanks in advance.

Ride with your elbows a smidge higher and it will come naturally.

Tried the elbows adjustments and changing my grip but then braking felt weird. I'm sure it's a to-each-his-own thing but I just couldn't do it. Quick action throttle (Active) worked great for me. No problems with over aggressive acceleration and even so I'm sure it would be safer than the re-gripping to get to WOT I was doing three times a lap!

Hold the throttle grip with whichever fingers you normally use (for me, its primarily the pinky and ring finger) and then place the pad of your thumb on the grip. This should allow you to get the last mm's of turn to WOT by pushing with your thumb instead of re-gripping.

I did the above until my mechanic decided it was time for the R1 throttle conversion. :)

Of the 2 above, I get to WOT quicker post throttle conversion. Just wanted to give you a couple of options.

    I've got an '08 GSXR 750.

Turn your right elbow out a bit. So that turning the throttle is a combined wrist / forearm motion, rather then just bending your wrist in an uncomfortable way.

So I don't need a throttle? Just a go and stop switch?

I broke my right wrist in 2005 and lost some range of motion. I got the Motion Pro revolver quick turn throttle from Sportbike Track Gear and love it. It comes with 3-4 cams to get it the way you like it. I know it's not a cheap fix, but worth every penny IMO.:thumb:

Just did the 1/4 turn yamah throttletube mod, one of the best cheapest mod to do on the gixxer, I can come out of the corner harder and faster now than before, the pull was so long on the stock tube that I wouldnt be able to go full throttle sometimes, which sucks at Road America. If you go with 1/4 throttle tube, you will have to dremel the bottom half of the housing that it goes into to make clearance. it was maybe a 5 min dremel job.

R6 throttle mod, or for $90.00 Motion Pro. I like the Motion Pro bc I can adjust my throttle mod depending on where I am riding in less than 5 min.

This! I had a problem with it on my 09 gsxr. I always have to re set my hand after rotating my wrist all the way. I ordered the r6 tube for like 20$ new, and made a world of difference. Takes about 10 minutes to do.

I just ordered a Motionpro for my R6! Too bad they just don't work on these Yamaha's the way they do on your gsxr's!

I agree...usually the elbows up will put your arm naturally in this position... Think of how you twist a screwdriver. Much easier on the wrists as well. JMO
