I know this is very subjective based on the riders skill at the time but ... I've got 3 Track Days under my belt (2 at Blackhawk Farms and 1 at Gingerman) all at Novice and about 1 TD a year. I recently acquired an 848 that I plan to dedicate to the track so I can start doing a lot more track days each year (my last track day was with the 848 and it felt great). I've never taken a course but I'm signed up to take a novice course with MV in early June and a Novice course with Ducati in late June. Debating whether I should sign up for an intermediate course with STT in July. Any thoughts or insights would be appreciated.
No One Is EVER Ready for Intermediate Class. Even Advanced Riders At Barber Weekend Before A Sold OUT GNF Who Have To Sign Up For "I". Noooo One
I think STT requires you to start in N and be evaluated for a bump to I, unless that has changed in the last year or two. If you’ve never ridden above N, and the only person telling you you’re ready for Intermediate is yourself, I’d stay in Novice.
you should be evaluated and bumped by stt staff to intermediate. Honestly my group 1 novice day and bump to I was one of my best memories. 10 years later i am staff and bump people oh how the tables have turned
I have basically the same question. I have ridden 2 track days with N2 on my 15 R1. I was bumped to intermediate at the end of my 1st track day. Only intermediate is available at Grand Prix on 5/31. I'm fine riding in Novice or Intermediate but would hate to pay for intermediate and then get to the track and be told that since I've never ridden with STT that I couldn't ride intermediate. Help!
