I used my Knox Gilet Air Vest for the first time at a Track Day at Road Ameraica yesterday so I thought I would post up a review.

First, I had to have Spyder Letther Works add a little room to my leathers to get this to fit as it is bulkier than just the Aegis back protector I wore previously. She did her usual excellent job with this alteration.

It was fairly easy to get the vest on under the armor, although it did take a little bit of shuffling around to get it down into the leathers. It isn't very comfortable to walk around in as it forced me into a bit of a hunched over position.

Once on the bike, I completely forgot it was there and it didn't feel any different than just having my back protector on. It got pretty hot yesterday afternoon, and I didn't really notice a significant reduction in air movement through the suit. Fortunately for me, but maybe not so fortunate for those interested in knowing about the vests protection capabilities, I didn't get a chance test those yesterday. I do know that the chest protection wrapping around to include the rib area seems like it will give a good amount of protection in the event of a crash. The back protection does seem to stop a bit short (as in not covering the tailbone quite as well) as compared to the longer race versions of the Knox back protectors. It seemed to get down to the tailbone, just not past it as some of those do.

Overall I would recommend this product. Am an over 6 feet tall, so the potential lack of covering the tailbone may be less of a problem for some people.
