Re: Ride for FREE it's on STT @ Autobahn Sept 24/25th!- RAFF Weian Andy Chang September 24 if possible I have never ridden on, or been to a track before.
Who's Going to Autobahn on Sat. the 24th? Anyone heading down to Autobahn this Saturday from Chicago? I'm riding down Saturday morning and it would be great to meet up with some people down there. Nick
That reminds me, have to pick up some coolmax underskin thingies. I am heading up but I think I'm trucking along with someone else from meetup.com who has a truck/trailer. Have to confirm with him first though. But yeah, look for the white gsxr http://neitherherenorthere.com/bike/angle.jpg Now to swap those sliders out for woodcraft ones mega-quick!
Nick, Thank you guys for letting me try this out for saturday. I was on the 220 blue and yellow bike and had a blast. My control rider was tom and he helped me out a bunch. Will be back for sure. Thank you.
It was great having you at the track, James. You had a great approach to the day, always taking our instruction to heart and not getting frustrated with things beyond your control. I saw you loading up Sunday and didnt get a chance to say goodbye, glad you had a good time! -Tom
Okay....5 months since finding out about STT. just had one of the best days of my life! Right after my marriage and the birth of my children. I was a Ride Right winner at ACC Saturday 9/24. Red and Black 98 CBR 600 F3. What a completely awesome day! TOTALLY ADDICTED after my 1st track day. I have to give props to the STT staff members, vendors, and every rider I met! Everyone was super nice and very helpful. I pulled in to ACC not knowing what to do or where to go and wouldn't you know, another rider grabbed me and said follow me, I'll show you around. Then helped get me all set up. Thanks to Derrick and Don! The tire guys were great! Didn't have a rear in my size so what did they do? Sent someone out to get one for me. OMG what a difference after having them put on. It almost felt like they were helping pull me into and around the corners. I think they were. My suspension was all wacked out when I got there and Superbike Suspension got me all dialed in. New inards in my forks, and a complete rear end rebuild needed before or during the Oct 10th track day! What he did with my old gear was very noticable, I can't even imagine what it will be like having really good suspension! I am still numb from the adrenaline! My 2nd Track day will be in Oct at ACC. I hope we get all 40 required riders for the day to take place! I also hope to get a nod towards Intermediate sooner than later. I Like SPEED!!! Not until the coaches think I am ready though. Thanks Gary (GU on here) for the patience and personalized coaching on the corners I kept blowing through (running the wrong line on those 2). No more missed corners on that last session though, huh? Seemed pretty quick to me. Hope to see you again October 10th! I have to give a shout out to my gorgeous wife Cathy. If she hadn't bought me a bike for my birthday, never would have found STT. Cathy and my 2 little girls (Anna Banana and the Bean, Natalie) came with me to the track and had a blast. Everyone was super nice to them as well. We all felt very comfortable everywhere on the grounds. What a nice place. Here is one for you Nick, I especially liked your tribute to our troops. You are so right about the general public and mostly the media about not showing them enough respect and giving them our thanks! To those service members that read this; myself and my entire family want to say thank you very much for your service!!! Nick, I have never been to a track day before in my life, but what I saw and experienced was a real life changer. Very very well run event!! And thanks for having the leathers for the noobies. I got the green and black Joe Rocket's. Looking for a set of used leathers if anyone knows of any for sale. US 42 or 44 In Red and Black preferably. If anyone reads this who has never been on a track, don't wait like I did!!! I was very nervous, and thought I wouldn't be able to keep up so I kind of kept making up reasons why I shouldn't go. I guess I found out that my old bike isn't to slow! The Novice program was just great! started out slow...ended up much much faster. No more reasons why not, now to find/make the time for more track days. Many many more track days! Thank you to STT and everyone we met! WOW! John Rheinschmidt
