Make life easier for everyone and rent the trailer. For $15 it's a no brainer. Come all the way through the grounds to the track/paddock. By Sunday morning you will have to park/pit on one of the two upper levels. Basically just pull in and set up pit as soon as you see trailers and pop-ups. The spots are not reserved (except for staff areas on the lower level) so just pick a spot and park. Then hustle down to registration at the tower and they will guide you from there. You will have lots to do, so make sure you arrive the minute gates open Sunday morning and don't forget daylight savings.
Had a great time at the track on Sunday! thanks to Ogre and crew for hosting a great event. I learned quite a bit and am going to be working on a few new techniques I was able to practice out on the course. Just one complaint though. And I am not the only one who mentioned it, but there were a whole lot of people in the novice flight that should have been in intermediate. It is kind of hard to practice and focus on fundamentals when you are constantly worrying about being passed on the inside by showoffs who ignore the rules.
Next time give a coach a description right then and there after the session.. speak your voice and we will handle that then and there... We cant help you the day after the event... We are always trying to keep people happy and make sure they are in a good comfort zone in N, I and A.. We hope to see you back out there with us...:thumb:
So how'd it go for the rest of you newbies?? Good:cheer: Bad Crash (I hope not) :crutch: Overall how'd it go and will we see you again? Steve
It was a blast! I crashed last session on Sunday though. I will be back. Thinking about going to the next barber date next month.
I am glad you had a great time. The Intermediate folks running in Novice are a problem, especially at Barber because it sells out so early and intermediate is usually the first group to sell out. Once it sells out, Novice is the next choice. If they play by the rules, it is fine, but for some reason listening and paying attention to the rules is just difficult for some people. I personally had a talk with several riders about the rules and I know most of the other coaches "chatted" with a few riders. It will get better. The first event of the year is always the worst. Everyone has been sitting around for a couple of months itching to ride and once they get on track just check out and get a bit stupid. As the season gets going good, the groups settle down and pay better attention to the rules. Just remember to ride your ride. Don't worry about the other riders that are behind you. You have the line in a turn. It is the responsibility of the rider behind to give way to you. I understand that it is hard to do this sometimes, but as long as you are predictable, it should not be a problem for another rider to know what you are going to do and be able to adjust accordingly.
Tucked the front. It wasn't too bad. But I'm still upset about screwing up my bike. I have to get a new tank, along with some other things. I want to live at barber. I love that place.
