Hello all I am new to Sportbike Track Time just want to say HI.

Am looking forward to riding with all of you. It will be my 3rd time to Roadamarica in july went 1 time last year was a blast and I am going at the end of may again with nesba I have learned to bring more fuel and change my gearing a lot different from Blackhawk Farms. I have been doing the Nesba thing and not to cut them down as I have learned a lot from them I am looking for more instruction and hear this is the place. That said what are some lap times for both of the tracks this will be my frist time to record my times. just want a ballpark for me to check myself. I have done a lot of work to my bike and ready to go. funny thing is I did not do one thing to make more power just fork, shock and rearset work the honda makes good power for right now superhawk 996. Was told wrong bike to learn on but it is what I have. Will be looking for a new trackday/race bike this winter. frist I have to learn somemore and then find out what class I want to run in. Hoping to find someone to help me out as I am 43yrs old and dont have much time left to ride past the 1/2 way mark you know. Talk to you all soon

    Welcome to STT

Greetings from the instructors. You will find the instructors are very much into assisting you improving your riding skills and for you to get the most from your experience.

In my opnion, you have spent your $$$ on the right things, with most bike technology today being out of the reach of us mere mortals realizing the true potential of the machines. In fact there are riders on some small cc machines passing the riders of liter bikes. The art of corner speed is where the true speed lies.

I will have the black GXR-750 with gold wheels. Say hello, and I will introduce you to the troops. Take care john

Stumpy...first of all, you're a young man with ALOT of riding ahead.I could tell you of alot of rider's I know who really rock, and are alot older.Anyway, having said that, these instructor's will really assist you in any way possible. They love what they do and are very enthusiastic about it,and know what the hell they're talking about. Not going to get into the org.thing cuz they're both good.In term's of lap time's,work on your skill set's,be as smooth as possible, and time's will follow.Getting too much into lap time's can take some fun away, but a lap timer can also be a tool as well, just don't get too focused on the timer.Focus on riding the track correctly, learn from the faster smoother rider's and the instructor's.Looking forward to seeing you there....and don't forget to bring alot of gas and check it often...of coarse having beem there, you already know this!

Super Hawk is OK . I started on a TLS1000
Lots of torque = less shifting ,allows you to focus on other stuff .

Thanks for the support. been feeling old, just turned 43 on the 8th of this month. I,m starting to get the blood pumping will be at Roadamerica on the 28th with nesba. nesba has been good to me learned alot but I hear you learn more of the things that I am looking for with stt. I have nothing bad to say about nesba. that said just like the honda tv ad "I want to ride" as for the lap times it will be used as a tool from what I have learned so far the fast times feel like slow on the bike becouse it is all coming togeather but the slow times feel fast becouse you are never up to speed with the mind and the track does not flow if you know what I mean. see you soon at the track

Ps if anyone is around madison maybe we can hook up for a ride. it is weird how your road speed gets slower when you do trackdays.

By the way Stumpy..Bob Lelie of Green bay just retired from CCS last year only because I believe his wife is ill or something like that. He's 67,been racing CCS for like 30 year's and still doe's 17's at BHF,and he's wide as a house(not physically) but he know's how to use the track, there are alot more example's of that as well.

I'm planning on running my 748 at Road America on the 4th and possibly the 5th. I just turned 41 so I know what you are talking about!! I need to start cycling to build up some stamina again. A Day at ACC really wore me out!

I think I recall seeing you from last year with NESBA riding the hawk. Good times are had with both groups from my experience.

On a different note, are they going to allow camping in the paddock or on site? I want to arrive the morning of the third to catch the tail end of the AMA races and then set up for SBTT the next morning. Nothing like watching the pros to motivate you eh.

Don't forget Ed Key, who's in his 50's (at least...) He pretty much owns Road America. His back is so bad, he can barely move on two feet, but on two wheels- he's nearly unstoppable in the lightweight Superbike and Thunderbike classes.

Riding at Road America is a relaxing experience as long as you are comfortable going really fast. I get less tired there than any other track.
