A while back I heard that Road Atlanta was going to be repaved this winter. Anyone know if that was actually done?

Thanks for the link. I've always loved riding at Road A, but this is going to be a huge improvement. No more holding my breath over those damn concrete patches! I can't wait to try it out!

They moved some walls too! If they move the one on the outside of the last turn, I'm so there...

I wouldn't count on that one. There is no practical way to move the wall further away from the track without bulldozing the existing observation building/tower and reconfiguring much of the outside paddock and pit lane area. The only other alternative would be move that last turn (Turn 12) further towards the infield, but that would be problematic (if not impossible) due to the large hill that you crest at Turn 11.

What they should do is install some sort of energy-absorbing barrier along that outside wall. Almost anything would be better than concrete!

But as long as you're not racing, you can deal with it by just not being overly aggressive through Turn 12!

i agree... to a point but there is always that small freak factor, but it would be too much of a headache to move. but if they did it would be one helluva track.... more so than now

I could deal with it by not being overly aggressive, but what about the guy behind me?
