Count me in for both days! This will be my 3rd track weekend, and first time at Roebling. Hope mother nature is good to us!
It was nice (last year).... a bit chilly at night, but it was pretty warm and sunny during the day! t
Obviously it is too soon to tell about the rain, but as far as the temps, average for that time of year is mid-upper 60's (according to weather.com).
That's a heat wave..........I guess I would ask what are the odds of a sell out....and play the weather watch game...long way to travel for me....Perrone mentioned CMP in March which watching video looks like a really fun track.....but I'm doing Barber, and that's prooly not going to work....really need to ride though!~!
Johnny, here's an idea: Come down for CMP, then leave rigs at my place (I have plenty of parking at the studio, a couple miles from our house - it's a secure, fenced-in lot with electronic gate).... fly back to MKE. Then for Barber, fly down to Charlotte, then drive to Barber. For that matter, you could do the same for Robeling: leave the rigs down here until Barber.... it would save a tow all the way to MKE and back..... Just an idea.... t
There ya go thinkin' again T.....well,CMP is out just from a work schedule standpoint....but Roebling is interesting....where would I store the trailer if I did Roebling??
Too bad you can't do CMP... you'd like it. But as far as Robeling goes.... yea, I think Charlotte would be on the way for you? My studio is in a building that had a fenced in lot... there are other business there with work trucks and whatnot, so it's quite secure.... so no worries that way. Give me a call if you want to discuss further.... always happy to help a brother do a few more track days.... t
Yeah thanks T but I just got off the phone with Sobottka and I didn't realize how far down it is,just too much of stretch, not a cheap date gas wise......let alone it's quite a haul from Milwaukee....see you at Barber, looks like that'll be the first event....I'll get to monkey with my new TTX shock...yummy!!
No worries, Roebling is easy to learn...and that means alot coming from me because it takes me a LONG time to learn new tracks and get them dialed in. But Roebling is straight-forward, no elevation changes to speak of, no real blind entrances like Barber etc. There are only like 7 turns. I know the track map breaks a couple of them up, but for all intents and purposes, there are really only 6-7 turns. The only real tricky section is the back section because there is 1 turn that is tight and it kinda sneaks up on you. But Roebling is FAST. I love high speed, sweeping turns. Roebling is one of my favorite tracks because the overall average speed is around 100mph over the course of the whole lap (Expert race winners and/or AMA guys will average 110mph for the whole lap). T9 (that leads onto the front straight) can be scary because it is very bumpy due to the cars rolling up the pavement...and it is a triple-digit, knee-down turn. You just have to trust your tires and your suspension to do what they are supposed to do.
And here he goes again. I love it when he does this. He will have it dialed in about two laps and further dialed in after two session. LOL Should be good practice for you if you are racing there a few weeks later
