Just a note to say thanks for a great opening 2007 weekend at Roebling Rd ! I had ( as always w/STT) an AWESOME time. To all the novice Instructors, Larry, Clyde, Kristen, Dan, Cliff, Kent? (New Instructor GSX600 White ? Helped me a lot getting better at hanging off to the right! ? Roebling was good for that 4 sure!) , I know I missed some but all the STT staff made the weekend great. Mark must have done an anti-rain dance to keep the storm away on Sunday! My condolence to the rider who was lost this weekend. See you all at Barber in March !
I put this in an E-Mail this morning to some of the other staff.... I was on the Motard Coaching as well... Todd was there with us that weekend... I just wanted to thank everyone for their prayers for Todd Philllips and his family this weekend. Todd was pitted with us Friday night and it really put a major damper on our weekend having him lose his life. It was a tragedy that something like this had to happen especially since we had zero flags all day up to this point... Todd was a seasoned rider and per his brother (who was behind him) said his front tire skipped out going towards turn 9... This is a huge loss as you know to the Georgia Sportbike family and there are many people who will dearly miss him. I will keep everyone posted on the funeral information when it is final. I also want to thank everyone for their understanding in regards to me leaving at lunch yesterday. I was up since 1:00 AM and just didn't feel right at continuing to coach the rest of that day. Now on to the good news.... I had a great time coaching at my first STT Event. All of the seasoned coaches did an awesome job and the classroom instruction was top notch. I think everyone had a great time because I saw lots of smiles in that classroom both days... That's what its all about... Mark, Lois, it was great to see you guys and I look forward to the next event.. Sincerely, Marc Perrone
tscriggins, it was great working with you out there this weekend along with all the other novice students. That was a great novice class and a lot of fun! It was a very hard weekend loosing a friend as Marc said as all of us over in that group knew him well, but I know he's watching over us now. Dan
Good to see ya again Tom. Hope to see ya at Barber in June. My condolences and prayers to Todd's family. We were pitted next to them. RIP Todd.
All I can say is.... Wow that was my first time at Roebling and STT for that matter! I tip my helmet to all who make something like that run as smooth as it did! I rode in the novice class and I really enjoyed the classroom time excellent job by Larry and all the instructors! I look forward to seeing everyone again!
Coaches, you really outdid yourself this weekend, ALL OF YOU. I want to thank you guys, you really do make the experience what it was, which is always the best of any oprganization I have seen do a track day. I also offer my condolensces to the friends and family of the fallen rider, and to see Mark taking the loss so personally during the announcement Sunday did nothing but increase my respect for him and this organization. I hope to see all of you guys again, Black R1 Boone, I am coming for you next month, 1098S will be here by then, no more getting dusted in the straighways with my 749
Thanks for the great track day guys. The classes were a very nice edition to it all. I felt like I learned something. I will definatly be coming to another trackday with you guys. I need some knee draggin help. Maybe next time! I was very shocked and saddened to hear the rider had passed. I didnt think it was possible in novice class. My prayers to the family. Im definatly investing in some good body armor now. Never know! Stan
