Thinking about signing up for Monday; is there still room in Adv? Is there power outlets available for warmers?
I think there is still room in Advance but it will most likely sell out. I would get on line and sign up soon. There is NO POWER track side for warmers. I am hoping to garages on south will be completed soon, we should have power there when complete. Until then generator.
Its nice to see so much excitement on the forum about MMC. Lets not forget to Join the facebook page and share pics and videos. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Sportbike-Track-Time-East/115311275171464
thanks sir! do you guys all bring your stands too? I dont have warmers, but might i need them? can we pull our trucks right up to the pits? I am a real track day noob... an excited one but a noob nonetheless. 1) Chairs 2) Gas 3) Cooler of drinks 4) Food/ snacks 5) Stands 6) Tools 7) Camera anything else... the lady is coming too, so thoughts are welcome....
Also where do you guys get the vinyl #'s for your windscreen? And that blue tape to cover the signals / lights etc? Thanks for putting up with me
Bike prep would be changing green radiator fluid for Engine Ice or equivalent, Blue taping all the lights (pull the fuses so the tape doesn't melt) and securing the oil system with wire. Bring a good back protector (full spine plastic). If you are starting in Novice, don't worry, you will be brought up to speed in the morning with lots of instruction and the afternoon will be yours to wick it up! Enjoy your new addiction! Blue painters tape you get at the hardware store. Numbers you can get from the track side vendor "MOTO CLINIC" Moto clinic will be there selling Michelin tires and doing suspension and repair work.
I'm in for both days . Riding down with a friend that has a camper rig. I've seen where some camp over night at Walmart. +-? Is there an alternative camp nearby that is likely to have spaces still open on Memorial day weekend? Can we do the squatter thing at the gate like Mid O? Jeff
You can park in the paddock, no problem. Might also want a canopy for shade, it'll be sunny this weekend!
This is the longest week ever, waiting for Monti 66. Weather forcast is looking much better then last time there , altho the track time in the rain was still a blast.
Decals here: http://dcdecals.net/motorcyle_trackday.html cheap, fast, high quality. Dean does a great job.
definitely a long week anticipating the weekend! silly question, but what time do y'all get to the track on Sunday morning? and do you set up when you get there or the night before? whats the best approach? also, can you leave the canopy tent up overnight or does one have to set up each day? thanks in advance! Morgs
MMC's gates will be open @ 5:15, Saturday evening and will remain open until 7:00 pm to drop off trailers and bikes. The gates will open at 6:30 in the morning, Sunday and Monday; Rider's meeting is at 8:30 prompt, both days. you may setup sunday evening if you like, but everyone needs to be off premises promptly at 7.
I'll be there Monday in intermediate. Anyone know which direction the 66 track is run? Are we using that chicane?
Clockwise. I'd guess that we'll use the chicane to keep entry speeds up into the rollercoaster section somewhat safe. Ultimately, that's up to Mike & David.
monticello definitely frowns on "squatting" in front of the gate , the driveway is very short , the road leading to the gate/driveway is narrow & you would be on a twp road anyways & doing nothing but making it more difficult for their staff , our staff/participants & pissin off the the locals , please don't for everyones sake . as far as setting up the night before , no problem as long as you are there 'tween 5:30pm & out by 7:00pm sat or out by 7:00pm on sunday . go ahead & set your pits up but ....... PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR CONOPIES/TENTS ARE SECURELY TIED DOWN . i have seen these things traveling at high rates of speed across padocks w/ only a "mild" breeze . one last thing about your pits , please stay away from the paddock entryways & the pit wall / pit-in / pit-out areas , these areas are unofficially reserved for staff / track support vehicles / emergency vehicles .
