I just picked up a 2010 RSV4R with 6k miles. The last 1k have been track at an Advance group pace. Noticed after a decent ride it has a small oil leak somewhere on the lower left side(possibly the stator cover gasket), doesnt want to go into neutral while running(from the Ape forums seems like a common problem on pre-2011 models), and the radiator fans Im pretty sure never came on even though engine temps hit a little over 205.

Any owners out there with similiar issues or other oddities that are just expected while living with an Aprilia? I came from Ducatis and Triumphs so Im aware of the european tempermental issues. Just looking to keep her healthy and avoid unnecesary trips to a dealer.

    Thanks

don't know about other issues, but the fan usually kicks at around 220 so no worries.
For the oil leak, probably you did but did u try to just tighten the stator cover? I had a similar leak on my gsxr 600 and tightening it just solved it...

Have you been to the AF1 Aprilia forum ? There is a section dedicated to the RSV4. I am sure you will find the answers to your questions there. If you don't quite trust other owners suggestions, comments, etc., you can easily communicate with AF1 directly. Get information pertaining to your Aprilia from the largest dealer in the US.

My 2013 is leaking also on the left side. Thought it was stator cove gasket but after further investigation turns out the oil is leaking through the stator wires/harness into the connector plug. Not a big leak but frustrating for sure. Tried applying some RTV on the connector plug but didnt help. Some recommend larger breather hose but havent tried it yet as my bike is under warranty.

Haven't had any issues with mine but mine is a 2012. Neutral sometimes is tough when its not warmed up.

    Some issues but not bad

I've owned a few of these from 2011 and up. Hard neutral on every single bike, no oil leaks (and I've been into the motor doing work), my last two were track only (2012 & 2013) and no issues other than a little gearbox issue with the '12 that needed attention. Aprilia forum is the place to go for any questions related to these scoots.
