WERA results can be found at mylaps.com. Looks like SBC placed 17th out of 47 starters in MW solo novice. Great result for a first race!

My first race ever. Took to it like a duck to water, baby!!

    Short story....

Registered Saturday morning for the MW Solo 16 (16-laps, about 30 minutes) . Gridded somewhere around 45th (possibly higher since only 47 started, but I was in 45th position on the grid) in wave 3. Finished 17th! Woooo!!!

Sunday's C Superstock sprint (6-lap race, about 10 minutes) - Gridded 30th out of roughly 52, in wave 2. Finished 22nd with a new best time 4 seconds faster than last season.

Started in the C Superbike sprint (same 6-lap deal) . Was right behind a three-man pile up in T17 on the 2nd lap and pulled off some evasive maneuvers to avoid getting tangled in it. I didn't feel like hanging out race-prepped till 6pm for a 3 lap restart, so I ended up with a DNS for that race. Kind-of annoyed I didn't stick around for it, cause only 22 people regridded and based on their times it looks like a sure thing that I could have picked up some points in that race. It was my goal for the end of the season to pick up some points, and there I threw away my chance to do it in my first race weekend! Grrrr!!!

I had a BLAST racing. I didn't expect to like it that much since I'm usually very much in the trackday mindset, happy to wait another turn or two to make a clean pass, very good at not pushing past my own limits so I can minimize my chances of wrecking, etc. But once I got out there it was ON! And I had a HUGE grin on my face in the end. :D

It'd DEFINATELY not a trackday. Specially the sprints. People's game faces were pulled on the moment the green flag flew and it was elbow-to-elbow racing with bikes wrecked in half the turns. Passes were no longer "don't do it if it will make the other person have to alter their line". It was "if you can do it, then DO IT", even if paint has to be swapped, elbows rubbed, knee pucks torn off and people put into the grass.

    Man it was fun!!! Hehe.

Thanks for asking! Looking forward to meeting you at Beaverun.
