Hi. I am in the process of selling an event. However, The buyer is worried about me taking his money & running since the exchange is only via email within STT.

Any experience selling a spot, how did you do it?

We're both STT members & I'd like to use Paypal to exchange the $. However, the buyer is not comfortable with it.

I can not help you out as I have never done it but am interested in the answer as I have wondered about this myself. Seems like if he knew your first and last name he could at least call STT and verify that you do actually have the spot you are trying to sell.

What event are you selling? If it happens to be a Novice spot at Tally on either 5/29 and/or 5/30 I will gladly pay for it and have no problem or worries about it. I will even throw in an extra $50.

    Thanks,

I can't think of a safer transaction than to buy an STT spot via paypal. If the seller was running a scam, the buyer has the protection of paypal disputes, of calling STT with the emails and paypal receipt, and outing the seller here.

Out of curiousity, how is the buyer proposing to pay for this trackday?

I've both bought and sold this way and it worked fine.

It is a little uncomfortable being the buyer because in this day and age most would be leary of sending money to someone you don't know relying on their word to do what they say they're gonna do.

I would like to think that STT members are stand up people, but I guess there's always a bit of a risk.

The buyer doesn't seem to famliar with paypal & wants to do cash & there's no way that's gonna work. If he's worried than he can pay the $190 on the site. I don't see the problem as we're both members of STT & that is what Paypal is for, a legit exchange of money. Now I've wasted too much time on 1 person if he doesn't come thru. It's a shame STT just won't let me come another day.

It's Monday the 31st for Novice.

ive BOuGHT some spot here and never had a problem.

i usually email STT if their full name is on the list though.....then, save the email convo between me and STT, and me and the seller.

also, paypal is good along with bank check for the record
