While it's not quite what I was picturing, like that Macanu (??) GP where the riders are scraping helmets and elbows on armco walls. I'll be waiting for Monday on the Main course.

FYI THe car video is running counter clockwise and is not the configuration that is used for racing. The video on the bike is the configuration and direction(CW) that CCS uses for races.

Couple FYIs on airfence BSR purchased a large large quanity of soft barrier for Shennadoah circuit. In addition CCS installed some of their air fence in areas we felt could use more protection. In the video there are no bare walls seen all walls have either tires or a soft barrier in front of them in all impact areas even those that are rather remote chances. In addtion top speed is very low and the run off from that highest speed area is well over 150 yards. Second WERA does not have any Air Fence when available we have loaned ours to them when they have asked.

Air fence is nice, but I's be interested to see just how much room they'll be between the surface and the air fence.

I haven't seen the track in a year, so i don't know how far the walls, if any, have been moved back. At the time, there was way too many walls right up against the track surface, so no much room for air fence. Still, run-off is important. What good is airfence if a crashed rider and bike end up lying on the racing surface in a turn?

I think I'd like to see some photos of how the actual track as it will be ran w/air fence.

On a positive note, it does sound like a nice low-speed, twisty course. Ideal situation for a motard to spank the crap out a liter bike! 8)

There is one area where the track and a wall are less than 20 feet of run off and that is at the pit out(maybe pit in for cars?).

Now the biggest problem is not any bikes being on the track or impacting a wall it is the acces to retrieve remove a bike from the impact area. There are virtually zero access roads or breaks to bring a bike through a wall to be retrieved without stopping race/session or waiting until race/session is over.

oops correction there is a wall that is on riders right in a right hand tun that people will apex at. That is one of the areas that we added extra airfence.

Front straight is less than 75 under the bridge straight is the fastest straight for bikes.

Did the karts run the configuration shown on the on-bike video ie with both chicanes?

I watched the video...boring as hell....no offense just ridiculous.

Only bike worth riding there is a 125. And walls are too close for that imo.

The straight I am referring to has no bridges. The chicane you guys run where on exit you miss the wall by about 6''...

That is the front straight and we used no chicanes. So you can see why we reach those speeds. On a kart as soon as you turn in .are full throttle all the way down that straight tillyou break for the uphill corkscrew. @ 100 plus. You guys probably dont ever get up enough speed for it to be too dangerous.

I stand corrected when I said bikes will be faster. I forgot about the chicanes

Our average lap times @ the Main course isnt to far off your mid pack experts ...Stock Honda 125 shifter 1:22's Modified 125 shifter 1:19's

Time to switch to karts :p

Exxxxxxcellent. I missed out on that last year. Lance, you planning to be there through Monday? That's the only day I'm doing. I've heard so much about this famous BBQ.

yes, I'll be there all three days, but I'll probably only do the Q on either Saturday or Sunday. It takes about 10-12 hours on the smoker, not practical for the last day when everyone's in a hurry to get home. If theres any leftovers, I'll gladly share. :)

This may be a sensitive subject: TPM claims that they'll rent their Air Fence to any org that may wish to use it. Has this been considered?

back to the topic I road the track twice and had a good time both times, I went down with TPM to give my opinion on the lay out 2 years ago. We ran in a counter clock wise direction, two places had short run off. That lay out is fun with all kinds of challenging corners For a track day, the place is all right, JUST DONT RIDE OVER YOUR HEAD you'll have to be on your game. Ride smart and we will all have fun.
