Hello everyone. I'm new to the board. I did my first Jennings GP track day this past Sunday with Sport Bike TrackTime. I love the track and look forward to many more. I wanted to issue an apology to all the folks riding with me. I was the guy holding up traffic all day! I was blackflagged after three laps and moved to novice. I have always run mid pack in intermediate but I just wasn't there last Sunday. I gave up the afternoon and just packed up-humiliated and frustrated. I crashed this past year and I have not gotten my head back on straight. No excuses, I'm just slow as hell now and don't trust the bike. I have felt like I've never been on a bike, much less, a track ever since. I hope I didn't cause anyone major problems. I'm signing up for Ed Bargy's school and the Keith Code school to hopefully remedy my issues. I hope it's like falling off a horse-I've just got to get back on and RIDE :(

No worries, bud. Lots of us ride and go down from time to time. It just takes a while "back in the saddle" again and you will get back up to speed. No need to rush, you were not bothering anybody.

Motorin Mark-Did you go down on your Tuono at Jennings? I'm buddies with "Super Dave" and someone in our crowd mentioned you went down pretty hard.

Glad to hear you didn't go down. My neighbor has a tricked out Tuono that I'm trying to get him to do a track day on. He has wondered how it would perform on the track and I've told him about yours.

Crash 1 I look forward to meeting you.

The way that particular Tuono performs has little to do with the bike itself, and more to do with the throttle management system.

Nobody in their right mind would ride such a bike in such a manner. Very humbling indeed!

Thanks for the compliment DJ, what can I say, I know I look kinda silly on that Tuono, but it just works well for me and I always have a smile on my face while riding it! :D

Monte sais maybe I should go "green" next year........... Like ZX-10 kinda green, not sure I can handle any more than the 108 HP that the Tuono brings to the table

    Mark,

I know what you mean about always having a smile on your face. My Mille has the same effect. They're much more nimble than their initial impression would lead you to believe.

Having seen what you can pull off on the Tuono, I've said more than once that I'd like to see you on something more appropriate for the environment sometime, although I don't know that anyone really needs a ZX10. The ZX6RR is pretty smooth though.

    See you at the track!

Hang in there Allen. A zrx is handful on the track anyway(mine is). Take your time, you'll get back to where ya wanna be.

Don't worry about it. I'm not one to talk because I haven't even rode on a track yet. I am looking forward to it though. I haven't told anybody this yet, but I'm a little bit nervous about my first track day for similar reasons. I felt very comfortable on my bike last year too, but I got too cocky(Natural tendency in me sometimes I guess.)Anyway, it resulted in my doing a highspeed field goal between some trees and a sign post and I missed a month of work. My friends told me to give up my bike and that just made me want to ride more. I'm planning on learning new skills and building up my confidence past where it was, but since I haven't even rode since last summer I'm expecting to be a turtle my first day and I know that I'm definitely going to lack confidence my first day. I'm pretty much writing this just so you know that I relate with what you're saying.

P.S.- I didn't listen to my friends. It's too fun and I hate quiting.
