As of last Tuesday, I moved to Philadelphia, PA, for a job. with the auto industry starting to tank, it is taking the building trades down with it & I had to go to where the work is... In my case, I had an offer I couldn't refuse working for a friend's historic restoration/remodelling company based outside of Philly. the downside is that I won't be able to make pulled pork BBQ at Grattan or Autobahn anymore... however, if anyone from the Detroit Area is heading to Beaver Run in October, my smoker is still in Ann Arbor, I'd be sure to hook up a sweet deal if anyone has any extra room in their truck or trailer to carry it to PA... I miss you guys & gals already... thanks for all the good times, see ya at the beaver, or next year at mid-ohio! Cheers, Lance
yeah it's like this old house, but instead of Nahm Abrams, I've got a crew of PA hillbillies.... still, work is better than no work at all.
I'd bring it for you Lance, but I'm not going to be at Beaverrun that weekend. It would have been right on the way though. Oh well. Good luck on you're new job. Hopefully my job in the Auto industry will not take the same fall. I've been VERY fortunate to be in the position that I'm in now so I've always had enough work coming in for me to work. Unfortunately just about everyone else that I know has been hit hard though.
Good riddance. Kidding! Glad you got a hookup. Sounds like really interesting and satisfying work! I live in a historic house myself, so I know firsthand the challenge you'll face. Never a dull moment! PA is an awesome, beautiful state, and I've always wanted to live there. College Station is my idea of the perfect, picturesque American town, and the female student population there is, um.... yeah. You get the point. When I have time, I'll e you some of my favorite biking roads out there! (Tip from my PA motorcycle trip journals: "All roads lead to Renovo....")
Hey Lance. PA is not far enough for you not to come an hang out with us for a weekend in Grattan right? Hope all is well and keep in touch....... V~
Virginie, You should get a group of tsbr's to come out to Beaver Run in October- I'll be there, for sure. It's about the same distance to Beaver Run from your place as Grattan. granted, the track's not nearly as diabolical, but the pavement's much better! Lance
K3, That's not a historic house, it's an old motorhome. Lance, Good luck out there! Prolly see you at the Beaver, but I prolly won't have room for the smoker with all the crap I usually bring.
Lance, I will do my best and mention that to them on 09/11. BTW....... you are still the only one that calls me by my real name. Most be the French food. lol lol call, text, or email to keep me update on your new journey. V~
