My 2005 Ducati Monster S2R 800 is cosmetically a 7 out of 10 and mechanically a 9. It has been well cared for, with about $7,000 dollars worth in the best aftermarket tuning, suspension and braking parts, all dialed in. It's light and beautifully set up for the street and track, and it sounds effing mean for a bike that is making 70rwhp!

Alas, I am getting old and want something more upright (I'm not interested in trades, though, sorry).

Priced for a quick cash sale. KBB suggested retail for a stock 2005 S2R 800 in good condition is $4,225. This has some scratches on it, but is well below average mileage for its age. Again: this has $7,000+ in aftermarket parts.

It has 18,000 miles and change and I am still riding it to work every day in Chicago when it is dry. I am open to offers but please don't be silly about it.

Upgraded parts (all less than 5 years old):
    -------------------

GSXR fork conversion, rebuilt and tested at GP Suspension in Oregon (cost $1,000), dialed in by Dave Moss for 200lb rider.
Penske triple clicker shock with Hyperco spring ($750), also dialed in by Dave Moss.
    Brembo M4 monoblock brakes ($750)
Brembo RCS brake and clutch master cylinders ($700)
Larger Brembo rotors from S2R1000 ($200)
    Sato Racing rearsets ($650)
    Apex racing clip-ons ($155)
Arrow full exhaust with carbon fiber cans ($1600)
    Corse Dynamics intake kit ($290)
Power Commander III ($300, with with $275 dyno tune)
Bunch of Rizoma bling (mirrors, grips, turn signals, maybe $400 worth)
Tail tidy and led rear light/turn signal ($200?)
Quick change rear sprocket, geared down one in the front, three in the back, I think ($500)
Motovation frame and fork sliders ($200?)
    Carbon fiber sprocket cover ($100)
LSL headlight mount and smaller headlight ($250)
    Speedymoto billet top triple ($290)
    Stainless brake lines
Michelin supersport tires with plenty of life in them.
    Lowered gauges

    Other good stuff:
    ---------------------

Box of stock parts and spares
Used but nearly new set of Pirelli Diablos
Had complete new wiring loom, fuel pump, battery, all fitted within the last couple of years
Big folder of receipts for maintenance work at Motoworks, MCC, dyno charts etc.

    The bad:
    -----------

The tank is scuffed on the left side (see pics) from a low speed off. There is no dent.
The tank has the typical tank swelling issue from Ducatis of this age. It is not visible to the naked eye, and has no effect on performance but I am pointing it out here in the interests of full disclosure.
Needs an oil change and will be due for a Desmo service this year.
