Funny, but I went back and re-read the original release after I saw that story. In the original release Spies is quoted as saying "I'm looking forward to staying with WSBK for 2010..."

Either he was VERY trained in putting up the smokescreen or he actually believes the home office wants him in WSBK next year.

Throw in the latest rumors and he'll be running as a teammate to DeAngelis!

    Amen to that!

Has anyone else noticed tha Yamaha has pretty much all the top talent signed for 2010 in WSBK, MotoGP, Moto2, AMA Superbike and AMA Sportbike?

    Shrewd.

Yamaha's really the best option for the top talent right now anyway. Suzuki's a career killer in anything but the AMA right now, Kawasaki is basically nowhere to be found, nobody wants to work for Honda because, well, they're Honda, and Ducati doesn't have the cash flow to support too many top-tier riders.

Still, good for Yamaha. :) And if it happens, GO TEAM TEXAS!!!

If he wins the championship this year, goal achieved, let's move on.
