Has the May 26-27 Tally LED been changed to a regular track day? It's not showing LED on the STT web schedule. It is on the orange schedule card as a LED date though. Thanks.

Well, we can still get an LED out of Tally. We just have to wait until Nov.

An LED at Tally would probably have me setting out at least 2 sessions , possibly 3 with the tire wear I experienced in March . A set of tires per day is sucking :(

Sounds like you need to figure out what the problem is that is causing your accelerated tire wear then. Could be your tire pressure or your geometry/suspension set-up or riding technique etc, but unless you are turning 1:00 minute flats out there lap after lap then you have some sort of issue that needs to be addressed. A set of tires should be lasting much longer than just one day.

I had Kenny setup the suspension after lunch and dropped a couple seconds but it was too late to tell anything about the tires . I'm going to throw on another set of PR's before next weekend to see if it made any difference . Of course I would technically have to go out there and just do the laptimes I was doing all morning to give a fair comparison ... I only run 1:10's -1:12's while getting use to the new bike/track and only dipped to :09.3 for one flying lap so I know I'm tearing them up by driving out of the corners to make up for my sorry cornerspeeds .....but as bad on tires as the old track was , I would easily get a couple days out of them . The front still looks good but the rear is to the wear bars on the left side :(

I think I might have talked with you about tire wear before I left..If it was you.. You said drop a couple lbs on tire pressure and back out a couple clicks of rebound. Thanks for the advice..Hope it works.. I'll test it out again at Tally on 4/28

Don't give up hope re: your tire wear...I weigh over 300 pounds with gear, and was well under 1:10 all weekend, both days. I ran the same tires I had on for the Feb. Tally race weekend, and the VIR race weekend. I did the whole tally weekend we're talking about here, and then did the following Friday practice at Tally on them, before finally changing.

Granted, I only have about 70hp, so the rear is going to last longer, but the difference isn't _that_ huge. Heck, the front still has some life in it, although I'll most likely pitch it.

Put in some work on your setup, and some on smoothness of inputs, and you'll see big dividends in tire life.

Thanks Dave.. I talked with the suspension guy and he gave me something to try so I'll see how it works. Also it may be my tire choice.. Someone said that the PR4s should'nt be run in cooler weather (under 85 degrees). so that may be a contributing factor because it looks like cold tearing..

I know 1:08s shouldnt be tearing them up that bad. Hell they lasted at least 2 days last year on the rough Tally pavement and I was 2 seconds faster then...LOL..

Btw if you are headed to Nashville good luck
