Here goes the proverbial can of worms....
What levels of technology do you encourage or personally use on your Track Bike?
This includes ABS, traction control, etc., etc.

The new R1 has almost everything...until tomorrow.
Esp the veterans.... when do you use or advise using what today's tech offers?

(It's more understandable w/ 150 + rwhp). My little R6 is fun just like it is....

The most advanced technology that I have is .........fuel injection and a slipper clutch.........well, electric start if you wanna count that too! :D

I have lots of nice techno-mumble on the 1199.. but my R6 is a slipper clutch and a QS that's all...

I recommend the least amount of rider gizmos when first learning.. starting with nothing and working your way up.. if you start with everything then you cant ride without it and don't always know exactly what the bike is doing or how to interpret it .. if you have nothing first you learn that your the rider aid and knowing how to ride in tons of conditions without riders aids will generally make you a better rider and able to use said aids later in riding..

For me it's - QS, Slipper, ECU flash, Bazzaz FI controller... That's it. No need for launch control, traction control (not that it wouldn't be nice). Like Marc said, use your right hand, body/balls and brain!

An "Auto-Blipper/Rev Match" system would be nice!! Now I'm just being spoiled :)

the more the better imo.. If it saves you one time its worth it. With all the new bikes I believe you can turn most of the gizmos off as well. Should you learn to ride with out it? Well thats up to you. Electronics are they way of the future tho. I remember my grandma scolding me for not learning to drive stick.. What if you get stranded she said you should know how to drive a manual. Like i was going to run into a deserted manual car sitting on the side of the road with the keys in the ignition haha....

Most of that technology won't really hurt you in any way, but the question is...is it worth it? Is it needed? IMO, the things that made the biggest difference for me and that I would like to have on future track bikes is: 1) slipper clutch (which almost all modern sport bikes come with now) and 2) traction control. I never felt the need for ABS and I personally wouldn't care for electronic suspension control/adjustment. Electronic Braking Control isn't all that needed either especially if the slipper clutch is adjustable. Other gizmos like a quick-shifter, and wheelie control are nice to have but not really needed. Auto-blipper is also pretty cool to have, but again, not really all that critical.
