I will be back at Barber again April 30th in the Novice group and I will be back on my 2010 Honda CBR 1000RR. This time I want to buy some Michelin Pilot Power 2CT tires and I want to know the street pressure, the cold and hot track pressure???

I think they are 31F and 29R. I believe Michelin only suggests cold tire pressures

Engine case cover for the right side???

Also, I am dealing with buying a new engine/clutch case cover for $150.00 and having my bike repainted for $400.00 or buying Chinese farings for $500.00!!! Any advise and help will be great. 2010 Honda CBR 1000RR

DO NOT BUY THE CHINESE BODYWORK!!!!
My sales manager at the shop thought that would be a good idea one time and it was a MESS!!!
Fit and finish was the worst I have ever seen!

    Chinese bodywork

I heard that was the case years ago, but what about now. I hear they are using ABS injection molding and heat shield, etc...???

Its your bike man, but If I had a new bike that looked good I would not even think about it. Look for used parts that someone took off to race prep.

    Thank you!

Ok, thank you. I will go with your advise. My bike went into the gravel and all my plastic is still good, just scratched (along with the engine case cover). Everything works fine and I finished 3 sessions after I went down. I figured after this season I would look into repainting it. Then I got to looking at the Chinese co. I will just repaint, this is the cheapest way to go. I am going to buy a Honda cbr 600 from craigslist/birmingham and start the process of making it into a track bike. However, until that time, I am going to ride my bike again in April and again in May.

30F 30r if you are unsure at ...(add track name)
Early spring or late fall I leave the warmers at home and use Pilot Powers or Q2's.
Warmers are a waste if you sit for 5 min. waiting for your first session to get underway .
Warmers are a wast if you are not allowed to pass track marshals showing lines to riders who have never been .
You won't be able to keep temp in the latest/greatest DOTs when the track temps. are low and you are not at speed.
    better off on street tires.

The 2CT's are a great tire. i would recommend looking at Power Pures if you are going to do several track days on that bike. Pures warm up quickly and are a more advanced version of the pilot power 2ct. Just ask the tire people when you get to the track and they can advide you on the proper tire pressure. michelin only recommends cold pressures. no need for warmers until you get out of the novice group. It was a shame you went down out there. I was working with you some, White Suzuki.

Yes, I remember you! Thamk you so much (Kentucky)! I will be at Barber on the 3rd of April with NESBA and back on the track at Barber again the 30th with STT. Practice makes perfect. I am about to buy a used 600cc track bike! I am currently looking and I have a budget of about $3000.00! I think it will help my confidence if I have a bike that I do not have to worry about crashing it. I hope you can work with me again on the 30th.

Yes, don't mind helping you at all. Glad to do it. i do not know yet if i will be working but im sure i will be a novice instructor if i am there. smaller bike always helps. i have been on a 600 for a year. great bike to have. not the best at Road Atlanta or a track with long straits but great size for 90% of them. hope to see you there!
