I was planning on trying STT this year for my first trackday but am a little concerned about tire wear and replacement. I read the rule is 75% or greater to pass tech. Does that mean I can only get like 1 track day out of a set (or rear) street tire?

not at all. it depends on the tire choice(brand/model) and, of course, the level of aggression from the rider.

I've been getting 6-8 days out of Pilot Power rears, usually riding at least a couple sessions each hour. In the end, tires are a lot cheaper than bodywork, paint, parts, new riding gear, and medical bills though.

    mostly depends on your pace.

yes. you can waste a tire in as little as 8 laps....but at most trackday guys' pace, tires last at least 3-5 track days....some even last the season.

If you can waste a Power rear in 8 laps, I wan't to be there when you do it.
