I am currently running Intermediate and doing it on Pilot Powers. I love the tires, great stick wet or dry. Should I just stick with the Powers or fork some warmers (and generator) and move on to Power Races? I am just a weekend warrior with no plans to race.

If you got em use them . Especially in cooler temps . Pilot powers warm up pretty quick .In my opinion they will handle more heat cycles than the power races .

The Powers are amazing for street tires, & if you stick with them you wouldn't get much benefit out of tire warmers. The Powers warm up pretty quick & tire warmers don't extend their life much at all. Power Race tires & warmers might buy you a few seconds, but if you're not worried about that you can save a lot of money & hassle.

I made it a point to ride a stock Tuono on Pilot Powers last season. Great tire and "if" it ever rains, they are also extremely good in damp conditions.

I could also leave darkies from teh bus stop all the way to the front straight after a little practice!

PP's and DC's are excellent without warmers. They stick great for the pace of most trackday riders, require very little time to warm up (on some tracks I only baby them for 3/4 lap) and they last a rather long time without worrying about heat cycles. Once you get into tire warmers your trackdays become a bit more of a logistical hassel trying to always find power, not to mention the cost of the warmers, renting power or buying a noisy generator. I say ride with what you got, specially if you aren't racing, it's cheaper and easier. I know many riders who have stayed on cold PPs and DCs all the way up into the A group. I only just now picked up warmers and only because of racing.

Thanks for all the great input. I guess Monte and Bonnie will be selling me a few more sets of Pilot Powers this season.
