So I picked up some extra wheels for my Triumph 675 Daytona last year, but the wheels are R6 wheels with R1 rotors and custom spacers. Yep, they work. Problem is I can't stand the straight valve stem on the R6 wheels, I can't reach it easily between the brake rotors. My Triumph came with cool 90degree valve stems from the factory. Easy to check pressures. Nice. I was looking to get some for the R6 wheels when I came across an interesting tidbit: The Triumph wheels have a valve stem hole of 8.3mm, consistent with high end European (Ducati, Marchesini, et. al.) hardware. After research it appears that the standard is an 11.3mm hole. So my question is this: Without actually going out and taking off a tire, what is the valve hole size in the R6 rims? Is it the 11.3mm "standard," or the 8.3mm size? -Tom
I think this site has the answer, but I'm just looking for confirmation: http://kurveygirl.com/shop/index.php?cPath=27&osCsid=773d7b20157742a5853740d6723a1422 -T
they are the 11.3mm. I am sure you probably could fint the other style in that size, they are the same size as a car valve stem. Damn you do bitch like Toseland.
