First of all, I want to apologize to everybody for crashing. I want to apologize to the corner worker and crash crew that took the wrath of my frustration. I apologize for getting upset and making a few people uncomfortable. Thanks for "unbanning" me too. Anyway, here's a link to a video of one lap at Mid O on the 1st. My friend put my GoPro camera on his bike and followed me around for a session. My crash occurred in turn one when I clipped the curb separating it from pit out with my rear tire. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R0XHrctJEi0
Didn't get hurt at all. I'm definitely going to try a different line when I do Keith Code's school in August... Thanks.
Dang that sucks... I have to admit that I almost did the same thing back in June. Hit the curb close to where you did but luckily I didn't bite it (I was thanking my lucky stars). But the one thing I learn after my close call was that there is plenty of grip in that turn and if I increased my corner entry speed and braked later, I had no problem holding a line far away from that curb. Glad you came out alright!
Time to search Ebay... I have a video of someone also crashing in turn one I think the next session. Unfortunately its very hard to see so not worth posting... Was your bike left out there for a while?
Hmmmmmmm Sounds like an apology I might be making under similar circumstances.... It is accepted on behalf of eveyone involved including the workers and the matter is closed. Us guys don't hold grudges so please don't loose any sleep or worry about it any more. Sorry about your bike.. that was a super sweet 675 and I have always liked those a lot. I wondered what happened because your bike ended up in a very non-traditional place for a T1 spill.. now it makes sense. Are you 100% ok? You were favoring one side when walking.
My bike and I was left out there for about 45 minutes. I had to sit through the rest of my session, the next session of Advanced riders and the next session of Novice riders before the crash crew came and got me. That's why I have to apologize to everybody because I was upset about being left out there so long. But after giving it some thought, it wasn't their fault (corner workers, crash crew, advanced group, novice group) I crashed. It was mine and only mine (Well, the curb deserves a little blame). I was having a hard time seeing the curb all day (morning) long. I wonder if they could put a fresh coat of paint on it or even some high visibility paint so it's easier to find...
I am 100% ok. Thank you for asking. Actually, I was 100% ok until I went to Cedar Point today and rattled my insides off my rib cage. That Mean Streak roller coaster was worse than the crash...
You guys.... just gotta hate on the short guy. My eyes took a sh#t at 42 or so (I'm 45 in Sept) but its close up vision not distance that I have a problem with. Healea... i hope you and Burton CHOKE on that peach cobler you bastads!
Glad to see you're all right. I was garaged next to you in 17 both days. Didn't realize that was your bike out there. Good luck getting it all fixed up........
