The Cloverdale RV Park and campground is a good place, or if you have an RV, the WalMart parking lot.

If you are lucky, they will still have the Christian Karaoke at the campground. Its "interesting". But the facilities are nice, and the place was reasonable IIRC

Can anyone recommend any of the surrounding hotels? I've heard some of the major chain hotels there are really questionable and seedy.

Holiday Inn Express is pretty nice, albeit a bit pricey compared to the others in the area. The pool & hot tub make it worth it after a long day at the track though. Don't forget to bring your bathing suit, since Sallie won't be there to let you borrow hers. The others are a Super 8 & Red Roof I think. Nothing special, but a place to wash up & lay your head. The one with the fancy name closest to the highway is pretty rough. Not much for restaurants in the area either. Some a ways West down the highway, or to the North into town.

Bring your fishin' sticks, some synthetic oil to start a bonfire, & a pad of paper & pen to write down the complex directions to the place with firewood.
