Going to the Autobahn this weekend. I have had one other track day about two years ago at Autobahn and had a blast. I have an 05 636 with brand new michelin power pures. I am comfortable riding in the rain but have never done a wet track day. In case it is a little wet/very wet. What kind of tips do you have? Ive heard to put shaving cream on the inside of the visor. but what should I do with the tires/suspension?
We will go in detail in the class room on wet riding . if you have any questions when you get to the track, Chris " Nipples" Hipple and my self will be doing the class room. My wife Sue is doing registration and we will be pitted with the Dir. Nick so feel free to come say hello and if you need anything just ask!
Smooth inputs on throttle, brake and bars, as well as moving around on the bike. Figure there is about 80% of the traction available in the wet as compared to dry conditions. Riding in the rain is an excellent opportunity to work on being smooth. In theory, if you get smooth down, speed will follow. Have fun!
Were you the dude on the 636, Uhaul trailer, and pit next to me near the exit? If so it was nice to meet you and ride together. I had to leave because it was my buddies in the accident in Advanced. But you looked good out there riding once we got a chance to go out on our own.
Yeah that was me. I left kind of early that day but went back on sunday. Going back at the end of May. hope to see you there.
