--anyone know what gearing is recommended on bmw 1000rr.

    -- Stock is 45/17

I currently have 44/16 for BHF. Wonder if it will be ok, or if I should go back to stock,

    thx

You may be OK, or you may be bouncing off the rev limiter heading down into 5.

I'd throw it back to stock.

I used stock gearing on my '13 s1000rr last year. (17/45)

I think it worked great. It was around 13,000 rpm down the front straight in 6th (but i was rolling back a liitle going over the hill).

    Whats Rode A?

There is Road A, Road Atlanta, Clay Nation, Elkart, RA, Road America, The Lake, Ect... What track?

Either or I would stay Stock....

I'm thinking Road America since he is from the Chicago area.

Stock or -1 in the rear. You can and will hit the rev limiter on the start/finish straight it's that long.

That rinky-dink track you have down there in the South doesn't deserve full stock gearing... Northern riders know that the REAL Road A requires you to shift your weight forward so you don't wheelie on the front straight! :fencing:

At Road ATL last November I was running 16/45 on my 750 (stock is 17/45). There were some laps when I was really moving I could get the bike to hit the limiter when on the side of the tire through the kink, then stand it up again to get a push down the hill at an indicated 183mph. Scary!
