I'm trying to figure out my priorities for the bike in this winter. Its not sticking and feeling solid in corners so I could use a little help diagnosing the problem. I remember on my 600rr I could really tear around corners the bike was new at the time and had PP2CTs (First model). It would grip so well that my body actually would be pushed down on the bike from centripetal force. Now my current bike from 2008 which I'm sure the forks and shock have not been serviced since it was new with Power Pures is not anywhere close to that feeling. When I get leaned over I can feel the front of the bike reacting to every little imperfection on the track. The best way to describe it would be to say it feels like there is a thin layer of sand on the surface and at any moment it could let go. Do you suppose this is a tire issue, suspension issue or both? Both bikes were setup for my weight by Ken at SBI and I trust his work 100%. Really appreciate any input as these two topics are tough for me to completely understand at the moment. -Nathan
From my EXTREMELY limited experience it sounds like you are describing the very nature of the Power Pures. They seem very sensitive to track conditions. I'm sure others will chime in. We should meet up soon being as we are neighbors!
Get race tires and get the bike set up again. You will probably feel much better on better tires and stock suspension vs ohlins everything on street tires.
+1 :thumb: I had the same problem with the Pures on my bike...feeling almost exactly what the OP is describing. I also had my suspension set up by Ken, who did a great job. When I switched over to a set of Pirelli DRC's, the feeling was like night and day...
