I have ran the 1200 and 1800S slicks offered by michilen for the past 2 years. That is all I have ran in the three years of track'n other than Pilot Powers for the first year. Now the delima is what to run, I love those 1200,1800 tires and I hate change. So any input from more experianced riders is greatly appriciated. I have tons of confidence in those tires and I don't wana have confidence issues when I'm at the track. Was thinging about the power ones but don't have any knowlege on this tire. Just want a great tire that I want worry about. I will be using warmers to! thanks in advance
Sooo you like the Michelin slicks, can afford them, and have warmers. As long as you are not planning on racing in Superstock classes, I don't see any reason to change.
I hear those Shinkos are pretty good!!! J/K... Prolly the only way I'll be able to keep up!!! 3 wks away & counting!!!
Stick with what works! That said, I've really liked the power Pures, they stick pretty well, I can drag a knee in the rain with them and they last and last and last.
Oliver I haven't been able to find them. And I think I heard the are not avalible anymore which makes no seens. I would like to run slicks. I do believe I got those slicks from STT tire service and they are not on the site anymore. HMM need to do more searching. Ken yea those shinkos are the shitaki!!! HEHEH you need to run those babies when you come down for Barber!!!! see ya there!
they're now "PowerOne Competition Slicks" http://www.sportbiketireservice.com/Michelin-Power-One-Competition-17-Slicks-Rear.html
man you guys are good, I did find some of the older 1200 - 1800's too. may buy a few sets if they are available. How did I miss those tires on STT man I got do better than that, Thanks again!!
Watch out buying the "old" ones. Tires don't exactly have an expiration date, but the fresher the better. If they have been sitting around for a few years the rubber starts to rot also if they have been exposed to heat and cold it harms them also. A couple of years is ok but watch out for stuff with like an 07 build date. 4 years is a long time.
they'd be fine. I ran on rears last year that had 07/08 dates on them. Only matters if you're racing and running super fast times with the newer stuff
