    Hi Ducati owners!
Any of you got a biposto 999 and installed racing fairings on them (HOT BODIES)? I just wanna know of the tail fairing that they are selling will fit a BIPOSTO subframe...Thanks!

Maybe somebody from DUCS Unlimited  can give me some info...Thanks again!

Race tails don't attach to the subframe. Instead, they attach to the 4 bolts on the bottom of the seat. Which subframe you have doesn't matter.

Are you getting full fairings, or just the tail section? If you are going with full fairings, I highly recommend the Ducati Performance Racing Subframe (fairing stay). It comes with a replacement front wiring harness. This allows you to disconnect the wiring harness and pull the entire front fairing assembly (upper fairing, fairing stay, headlight bucket, etc) off as one piece by removing the 4 headlight bucket/fairing stay bolts. This makes it much easier to swap back and forth between street and track set-up. After a little practise, I can swap the bike from street to track set-up in about 30 minutes. Without the replacement wiring harness the time it takes is considerably longer as you have to open up the headlight bucket to disconnect everything (pulling the fuse holder is a royal PITA).

Thanks for the info! Thats actually a very good idea...I wonder where you bought yours? It will save me a lot of time and maybe save me from breaking other parts on my bike :) ...Im getting the whole thing, and Im also planning to put frame sliders...just to make sure I keep the vital parts of my bike protected...

I really appreciate all the info that I'll get...

Any Ducati dealer can get it for you. I bought mine from TT as they give a 20% discount to Ducs Unlimited members. I think I paid $295 for the fairing stay. I tried a few different things (Vortex stay, Hotbodies bodywork, etc) before going with what I have now. What I learned (the hard way) is that it is better to spend the extra money and get what actually works/fits than to try to get the cheap stuff to work/fit. Here is a pic of Armour Bodies installed with the Ducati Race fairing stay:

    That's cool!

Now that's a beautiful looking bike! Thank you for taking the time to post the picture:)...Did you have to drill the hole for your sliders or did the fairing came with holes in it...I know Im asking too many questions, but thats the only way I'll know...and it's better to learn from those who were in my situation before...Again I appreciate all your help!

You will need to drill the holes yourself. Easy to do.

    Duc999-

Looks like you've already gotten some good advice here. Like wdavis said, the tail section does not attach directly to the subframe. However, the bi-posto subframe will stick out past the end of the tail, so it won't look as clean as using a mono-posto subframe. I found a mono subframe on ebay pretty cheap, but i had to have it straightened.

    Re: Thanks!

good luck with the hot bodies. thats what i have on my 749. be patient, and be ready for plenty of trimming to get them to fit how you want.

looks like you have the boxed-style swingarm, that might require some trimming on the lower fairing (i'm not certain, i have the old-style swingarm).

i just repainted mine before mid-ohio. any ideas on a paint scheme? i don't know why, but i really like thinking about paint schemes and re-painting my bike... here's my latest.

    Hi Steve!

The current scheme that you have is fine, I actually like it...its just like the DesmoRR paint scheme only in black and white. I still love the red and white combination, but what you got there is good...all you need are sponsor stickers or logos :D ...
