I've heard that tracks set up with split times (multiple beacons around the track) can screw up the minis lap recordings. IIRC the mini would trip and start a new lap time every time it passed a beacon, so if there were three beacons set up around the track you would have to add up three "lap times" to get the actual time for one complete lap. Does that sound right? If so, is there a setting on the mini to make it recognize split time beacons? I'm interested in the mini because its cheap, simple, and all I really need, but I would go for the bigger XT if this is an issue. Thanks
it's rare to see multiple beacons...in 12 years of track riding/racing i've never encountered it....but come to think of it...it might be because i always have a minimum time set for my xt (it will ignore any signal until the minimum time has passed since the last signal), or because i think i have the option to ignore split times on. it's hard enough to get folks to put out one beacon....let alone 2!
I've seen splits once. All the other times, it was IR coming off the track photographers equipment messing up my timer. I do the same as Jig, and set a min lap time
