i'm putting a salvage 07 back together, and using race bodywork. i'd like to attach the top portion of the new upper with zip ties. will that pass tech? thanks! eric
shoot, thats all?? it SHOULD work, but if you could use at least one screw or post/cotter pin that would work better. Hopefully it is attached to the bike somewhere else on the upper to relieve some of the strain on the ties... Will it pass? I would pass that... But i have seen guys that should be SPONSORED by zip tie b/c of how many they have!
Most racers wouldn't pass tech if Zip ties couldn't be used. Seriously, Zip ties are fine for some things. Like a windscreen or light parts. I would avoid using a zip tie, when a screw or a bolt would be better. And never use zip ties on structural parts, like the frame XIII
Isn't that why "Duct tape" was invented? So NASA could keep the frame of the Space Shuttle together? :shock: XIII
That would be me! Zip ties and band aids. My fairings have a way with going 'splode when I crash.. which is only often.
