I just went in on the buy one get one hotbodies plastics for my 2011 GSXR-600. I've watched the install videos that SportBikeTrackGear has posted on youtube. My plan is to mock it up, drill all my holes and make sure the fit it perfect. Afterwards I would like to send it to someone to get painted. Any ideas of who I should send it to or how much I should expect to pay?

I'm wanting to use the grabber blue from the Mustang.

Here's what it looks like currently

This is what I'm thinking would look good on the bike but I would like to incorperate more white so I can keep my stock white painted gas tank, any Ideas?

I want something similar to my old car, it was apex blue pearl. (slight picture whoring) :)

Damn that dude looks fast in that third pic!!! Hey Josh I have the paint code of you need it... The New Mustang in a parking lot at night under the lights inspired me to use that color... Kevin Teisort painted mine.. he is in Owensboro.. Most painters will charge around 600 or so for a good 2 color job with clear..

Owensboro, KY? If so that would be perfect! Can you PM me his contact info and the paint code please?

If that doesn't work out for you, contact Scott Moore at Fastfinish...he's painted a TON of bikes down in Alabama, including Jay's, Charlies and Felix's bikes...he does great work...

Any one ever made a left side lower belly ban bracket after they deleted the kick stand? I'm thinking about using a 7-8" long piece of aluminum and bending it into the shape I need then drilling a couple holes in it. I'm curious if anyone else has done this and maybe has a picture of it.

Yes Josh..... Very simple... Just bend to fit and bolt it up... I used a slip on Dzeus as well for the bodywork end...

I'm just using the OEM bolt locations on the lower. I have Armour Bodies but it doesn't move around at all.

IMHO. Get the bodywork painted in your choice of color. Then go find a good graphics company to work out a design that your looking for. It is amazing the colors available today along with the great design software. I have worked with http://www.competitiongraphics.com/ Cosmetic damage repairs are easy.

Agreed, especially if you're on a budget do a single color, then add some graphics. Also helps you not be quite as upset if you go down, or worried about messing up your paint job. It's also easier to change up, if you want to try something different.

I have a buddy who works in the paint & body shop for a local car dealer. Had him spray just two colors (Grabber Blue and white) to keep it simple. He pretty much charged me for materials, 200 bucks. Then got graphics made at a local vinyl place.

Well I finally finished all the body work mounting and drilling today and took the plastics over to a friend thats going to paint them. I ended up making a bracket for the lower fairing.

Right now the bike is back to being stripped naked but it runs, no check engine lights, and everything is deleted/wired up! I think that's considered a success!

    Now for my next issue:

I picked up a qt of grabber blue and a qt of clear. Although it looks alittle darker than grabber to me? maybe it will lighten up once sprayed?? I can't find pearl mirage white at napa. On color-rite it is $270 for a pint of base and a pint of top coat. Thats extremely expensive and I'm not 100% sure I can paint all the white with just a pint. (tail, top of the front) The goal was to use the stock painted tank and match the rest of the white to that but at $270 for paint I'm highly tempted to just paint the full bike grabber blue and be done with it. With something thats expected to get tore up and wrecked it might be slightly silly to spend that much on paint when a normal color is $60 a qt. Input on what I should do?

Use Grabber on the top and tank guard and paint Satin Black on the bottom...... Don't forget a crap ton of clear.... Good Paint or not there will be several chips.... And good job on the bracket....

I gave all the paint to the painter a couple days ago. $400 ish for paint, lets see how it turns out when I get it back in a couple weeks.

I got my plastics back a couple days ago, The paint looks pretty good. I'll post up some pictures in a couple weeks once I get the plastics on the bike. I just took it and dropped it off to install a manual TCT. I was iffy to do it myself since I'm pretty sure the intakes have to come off to get a allen wrench on the bolts. Here's how it looks currently. The tail is part of the new/fresh paint.

I assume you mean a manual CCT? If so I hope they know what they are doing. Adjusted wrong they can do some damage, too loose and you will hear it but too tight you might not hear a whine but still causing accelerated wear on the assembly.

I painted this myself for about $80 with good rattle can paint and clear (went matte black on the bottom). It's all in pre paint prep work... Then about $100 worth of decals! Paint held up awesome for the 2 seasons I had it :)

Miss that bike :( great power and even better handling (the R6 would pull it a bit on straights)!!
