HAHA forsure Keith! I've been working on it on and off all off season. Everything is done to make it SS legal for WERA. The bike is being dropped off to Thermo Man (Mike) next Saturday (Feb 13th) for a Ohlins TTX 25 pressurized cart and a Ohlins TTX GP rear shock. He's going to set the geometry and move back the rear wheel 1.5" with the new DID EVR3 chain I just ordered.

I would love to get below 2:00 lap times at NCM this year. Current NCM record is on a ZX10R running a 1:54. If I can get below the 2 min mark on a 600 I would be stoked! I got down to a 2:02 last season on stock suspension. :) My front forks are now leaking though. lol My first event of the year will be Barber on April 16/17th. I'll see you around man! :)

I agree completely but from my understanding of the wera rule book I read over those panels have to come off and stay off because they don't secure with any bolts, only velcro. With some club racing in mind I just want to pass race day tech without issues. If you think they'll pass tech I could put them back on?

I've tried for 4-5 track days to like the Apex GP style handle bars and it just doesn't feel natural or confidence inspiring to me. I need to order a set of standard ones before April. Anyone else Tried the GP style clip-ons?

Not currently, I need to buy one! I was holding out until I get my $3850 shock bill done and installed before buying anything else. Do you have one forsale or have some input on it?

I told you to be ready to give all your money away (and you seem to be doing JUST THAT :) ...But you need to save a LITTLE for your future! Yep, I don't have anything to teach you anymore (I didn't have that much to show you in the first place)...other than you need to manage your risk; you are too young to learn a painful lesson...

I've seen this in skydiving before...people come into the sport and have a lot of natural talent and desire - and they get really good, really quick. But they haven't seen all the bad stuff that can happen yet...and eventually, they push their luck and WHAM, they are out of the sport for good with some nice metal parts in their bodies as a going-away present...If they are that lucky. I got lucky, I learned a lot being around the mistakes/misfortune of others...

Remember, there's no one skydive worth never getting to skydive again, and there's no one laptime worth never getting to make another lap again...motorcycles are a harsh mistress...

I agree our choice in hobbies isn't cheap at all.

Yea, no laptimers for a while to focus on getting used to everything and prevent wrecking. I'd like to keep the bike together in one piece. Looking forward to the season starting. I signed up for Barber yesterday and I'm getting excited/antsy.

Gotcha... My 1000 has bolts/DZEUS on them up front and I have them wired in the back... I know Brooks raced his 1000 with them as well so it must be a Tech thing for the 600/750's

No, never had a tech issue with them. The post and the Velcro has them locked on solid. I believe the intent of that rule which is a carryover is for the old style covers that had only the posts in rubber grommets and especially those with metal covers. I never even gave it a thought and tech has never said anything to me about having them on there.

Josh, I would just put them back on there if you want, just take the bike to tech and don't even ask about them (if you do somebody may interpret the rule differently). Just roll up there with your tech form and don't worry about it. They will be looking for true safety items and that everything is wired that is supposed to be. Believe me, those covers won't even give them the first thought. They just want to make sure all fluid points, axles, brakes, etc. are wired.

I guess things are getting pretty serious today... Having all the data from the 2013 winning AMA SS bike GSXR600 should make for a pretty turn key race bike!

The bike looks good Marc! It does look like we swapped plastics haha

    Thanks Keith!

The bike didn't stay together for long! On the way back from Atlanta I hit alittle bit of snow and the bike got really dirty, Thermo-man was teasing me about how dirty the bike was and that was even before the trip home. I spent the day cleaning everything and changing all the fluids.

waiting to come in the mail:
    - Set of Dunlop GPA Pros
    - Woodcraft Klucky knee sliders
    - Motion Pro chain braker (I need to rivet the new DID ERV3 chain link)
    - OEM clips for the air-ducts
-OEM velcro for the tank so Marc will be happy I put back on the plastic pieces. :D
    - Bazzaz QS4 strain gauge quick shifter
    - OEM windshield (so I'm wera supersport legal)
    - OEM front caliper bolts (long story )
    - Apex standard clip-ons
    - Renthal Road Race grips
    - Driven aluminum 520 44 tooth sprocket (had to go down 1 tooth from my 45 that was on the bike to get the correct geometry)
    - Vesrah RJL pads (as a back up set)
    - Apex lever guards
    - Superbike unlimited rear rotor (1.1 lbs, less than half of the oem one)
    - Popshadow decals
    - Ohlins steering damper (Thermo-man didn't have it in stock so hes mailing it to me)

    sitting on my desk:
    - woodcraft frame sliders
    - bolts/spacer to make spacer for the left side fairing mount

Everything is ordered, just waiting for it all to come in, should be able to do the full install and finish the bike within a day.

Some deep cleaning on the wheels! Apparently after a quick google search I learned WD40 works amazingly for taking off chain grease! It wiped right off!

Popshadows mockup: 97 was my number when I raced cars, hopefully the goodluck transfers to the bike.

I also made this today... Because everything under 8000 RPM doesn't matter. :) I know, I know, I should of made the carbon fiber weave all run the same way. I didn't think about it until after I made it.

I have one I bought used but couldn't get it to work (only tried for a couple trackdays). Previous owner swore it works and offered to troubleshoot with me but I never took the time. Then I got a great deal on full ZFiTC system so swapped it out. I've been meaning to contact Bazzaz and see if they can check it out. Wouldn't want to sell it to someone without making sure it's fully functional. So, probably not for sale right now but I'm going to try to get in gear contacting Bazzaz and then might have one for sale. :p

I installed my Bazzaz Quick Shifter last night, it took about two hours because I'm a neat freak with keeping the wiring organized. I was surprised at the lack of connections to hook it up. I ran the wiring down the right side of the bike tucked and ziptied into the oem harness. Tucked the ignition plugs into and under the coils so it's clean looking and neat. I ran the single strain gauge wire down the left side of the bike ziptied into the bazzaz tuner harness and down to the shift linkage. I used the starter bolt as a ground as suggested in the instruction manual. I'm not sure why yours isn't working but mine seems to be. I'd check the online instructions, make sure your plugged into the gear position switch and not the secondary TPS sensor since they use the same type of plug and then check your ground. A easy way of checking the gear position switch is to trace the wire from the sprocket case cover back to the plug. It's that plug. I can take pictures if you need?

I installed my ZFiTC that includes QS and it works great. It's the standalone QS4 that I couldn't get working.

I spent about 8 hours on the bike yesterday. Mounted tires/wheels, washed the bike and it's now spotless, used steal wool and polish on the exhaust to make it shine and clean again, installed the plastics, frame sliders, windshield, some stickers, made a bracket for the brake res, installed the new clip ons, and made a bracket for the left side fairing mount.

All that's left to do is resafety wire some stuff that's already drilled, wait on the rear rotor to come in, and install some more stickers!

Is it time to ride yet?!

I'm excited to present you my 2016 superstock race bike!

I'm missing the new light weight rear rotor and the apex brake lever guard but other than that it's completely done!
