    I agree 100%

Mack, I've been out in a lot of I sessions and seen you ride... you are super smooth and predictable, and as of recent you've picked up the pace a fair bit - you are fine in Advanced group.

With that, there is nothing to be apprehensive about. You are carrying more pace now than some other A people - you won't be the slowest guy out there, and you are smooth, which is the #1 thing we need for A. Just keep doing what you're doing.

The only difference is, from time to time those guys running :29's at Barber will come by.... :D

For the most part it is pretty painless though. :)

I have two things to say:

    1) I am grateful for your including me in those you consider 'fast' in your original email, but that's a stretch of the imagination :)

    2) You were hauling the mail at Barber last weekend, and I'd certainly recommend you for a bump anytime if T hadn't already picked up on it.

Or DiSalvo passes you in pit in then wheelies down the hill before dragging a knee at the bottom of hot pit LOL

Seriously though those guys are not a concern if you just do what you are doing. Not being the fastest person in Advanced I generally worry more about catching a false neutral or blowing a brake point than fast people passing. Those make you less predictable. Other than that the times that someone did a naughty in "A" to me could be counted on one hand with enough fingers left to hold a beverage.

I'm still at home licking my wounds from my lame ass riding at Barber a couple weeks ago. I actually skipped NCMs weekend last weekend and went to Vegas for the weekend instead. I haven't even looked at the bike since I pulled it off the trailer and put it in the garage.

I guess I need to get it together and figure out why I'm sucking.

Everybody has a bad day Josh. Don't let it get you down. The first ten seconds of gain is easy, but then it gets harder and harder to even gain a 10th..

You are talking 2 totally different tracks here. If I'm not mistaken you had only ridden at NCM prior to coming to Barber? NCM IMO is extremely easy to learn overall, better sight lines, quite honestly depends a lot more on throttle over lines for quick laptimes. Sure, lines become critical there once you reach a certain time but you can get a "fast" lap there largely on throttle due to the very fast sections on that track.

Barber is designed to trick you up, one corner feeds the next for most of the track, mess up one corner and the next 3 are compromised. Also a lot more elevation change, blind corner entrances where reference points become more critical, a lot more off camber than NCM, etc. A LOT of riders struggle with Barber their first (or even 2nd, 3rd) trip there due to the fact so many corners depend on the exit of the previous corner. It's very much a riders track and can teach you a lot.

You actually did quite well for your first trip to Barber whether you believe that or not. Not all tracks are easy to learn or go fast on without more time especially since you haven't been to many to have the depth of experience for some of the more challenging corners. You need to get this out of your head, and on your next trip there ask for some help both on-track and a sit down session to discuss the corners and how to approach them.

Thanks for the kind words guys. I'll take you advice and try not to be disappointed in my riding. I think I'm riding at NCM at the end of this month so that should give me a confidence boost.

Atleast I continue to kick ass in my regional SCCA car racing. I doubt I'll do any national stuff this year. I'm to busy working, building a house, and I rather do some track riding on the bike.

I hate I missed it, to many issue where popping up, and along with the weather threat just made it almost impossible for me to have been there.
will be at Barber Sunday June 5th,and Monday June 13th, you can tow me around some, I will try and keep up!!
