He may have purchased it in Michigan. 6% sales tax on top of the purchase price puts it at the top of the the sucks-to-buy-vehicles-states.

GLWS OP, if you want something to go off of, I paid a bit over 5k for my completely stock 2008 CBR with 1300 miles. This was in the winter though so you may be able to get a little more for it.

chicagoland area, 10%! tax, title, license all included cash deal...insurance is never factored into the price of the bike (and so shouldn't TTL or financing).

I don't think taxes increase the value of a vehicle, do they?

Well if it really has 666 miles I would suggest go riding it around the block once. And am I correct in assuming you think it is worth close to that price because of low mileage??

Other than my goofy suggestions and rediculous questions GLWS.

The honest answer is that my magic number is in the 8-9k range... I came to this number by spending over 3 hours on Craigslist looking at bikes from Illinois and surrounding areas. The difference in buying

I felt my asking price has only one trump card which is the fact that the bike is not practically new, it IS new. Riding 100 miles a year with full maintenance before I inherited it and given it falls in the same cosmetic year range of 07-13.

My $0.02. any insight and perspective is more learning for me.

I wasn't trying to be a dick... i see crazy CL ads all the time, paid 12 grand for this 600... yeah, after you got ripped off by the dealer, paid the taxes and the other fees that go onto that pink inspection sheet, etc. the price of the bike and the amount that came out of your pocket are different, but when you go to sell, people aren't going to pay for the difference. that's the price you pay for buying new from the dealer. looks like you have a really nice bike, but for that much money a lot of bikes could be had, just cant buy the first thing you come across. I thought '07 600's went for about $4k. Since yours is in such good condition with low miles, I'd say $5k would be a fair price. Maybe you can get $6k if you find the right buyer. The MSRP was $9500, so back in 2007, you might've gotten $8k-$9k. Nobody is going to pay new prices for a used bike even if it is like new. I think it depreciates in value as soon as you take ownership, just like a car. Also, nobody is going to pay 2013 prices for a 2007, even if the two years look the same.

I was just shopping for a new bike this winter, and anything with an asking price over $5k I just ignored. Just trying to be helpful. GLWS

My 07 with over 12K invested of new parts; I was selling for $6500 and it has 3500 miles....

You may be better off keeping it and turning it into a race bike :)

Op, this is the best advice you're going to get.

I was looking up and down for a 07/08 CBR last winter and most people were asking in the 6k range for stock bikes with low miles.

If it were my bike, I'd ask 6000 and take 5500.

You're also trying to sell on a track forum, where we usually try save money for mods and track days by buying slightly rough bikes :bounce:

I'd like to unload my 1000RR and get another 600RR for track purposes, this would be a prime candidate.

When I was shopping for a track bike, I was looking for a 600, but ended up finding a deal on a 1000RR I couldn't resist. When I was shopping for a street bike, I was looking for a 1000RR to match my track bike, but ended up getting a 600 because I found a deal I couldn't resist.

Assuming the 1000RR is basically stock, I would find a used race/track bike with all the go-fast parts. Otherwise, I would track the 1000RR.
