again, kendrick. you addressed that much better than i would have. i actually enjoy publicly knocking these guys delicate little emotional faces in by reminding them that i said in the riders meeting to hit the photographer up early in the day to ensure we know to take photos of them. asking them if they did that and gleefully watching their face drop and have to admit that no, they didn't follow the directions, and are now suffering the consequences.

it's a secret pleasure of mine. but i'm a bit sick in the head.

 

Every photographer I have seen at a track day, who wants to sell photos at least, has made this announcement early in the day.

I think there is a misconception that photographers are there simply at the luxury of the riders. While partially true I recognize that luxury comes at a price, a reasonable price, but a price none the less. A few beers and a conversation before hand will do wonders for the real cheapskates, but nothing says "take MY picture" like letting the moths breath and opening the wallet.

 

no kidding. looks like kendrick is shooting with some long fast glass....i'm guessing the canon 400mm f/2.8....that aint cheap. probably costs more than all my track gear combined.

track photography is certainly not lucrative. it's a struggle to even break even on some events. the only way it continues is if the photog enjoys coming out and gets other benefits to justify the work/cost/bullshit.

 

I think its a privledge to even have a Track Phtog... Kendrick does a great Job and goes above and beyond if you let him know and sometimes if you dont... Keep up the great work Special K!

 

Dang, bitchin a little hard. Hell i never met him and I had 10- 15 pics of my lame ass. Which makes me want to ride more and improve. If I was that hard up for pics of me, I def would have talked to him ahead of time. Make sure he knows I'm down for some commerce.
