I figured I would pitch this idea here too. A few friends of mine(they won't admit they're friends) and I are planning on taking an extended weekend to hit both Gingerman Fri evening and Grattan for Sat Sun. Riding two different tracks in three days is going to make a great weekend! However an informant has told me Grattan has been run backwards in the past. This got me to thinking. Friday evening at Gingerman Saturday at Grattan run clockwise Sunday at Grattan run counter clockwise :thumb: Three different track layouts in one weekend? I'm up for that! Nick! If they would do the CW then CCW set-up for that weekend I would be right in with you and pull an extended track weekend and do all three days. Three tracks three days would be awesome!!
Is this Geoff?^ samm: No clue. Most orgs run one direction all year. They only reason they would switch it up is under peer pressure. And that is only if insurance is ok with it and the track doesn't get crazy dangerous in the reverse format. I know Blackhawk Farms Raceway has a good amount of fixed objects in the corner runoff if you run it ccw. That is why nobody runs ccw at BFR.
I was originally thinking three track days in a row would be awesome. But seeing how I could barely move after last weekend at Grattan. I'm not sure I'd be worth a damn on Sunday. I don't know still kicking around. But both days counterclockwise would be awesome.
is it a bigger liability to run CCW ? why is it such a special thing besides being the bees knees ..?
Not all tracks are made to be run in both directions. So things like runoff areas in one direction could turn into a wall of trees if you go through it in the other direction. There is probably a laundry list of other little things to worry about too. Hi Spoot!
the good news is that grattan is run ccw fairly frequently, so there's not really an issue there. i've even done laps on gingerman ccw before. it can be done... s3aturnr
If you want to run CCW, the next CCW day is coming up on Sunday July 7th. The ladies day is Friday July 5th, Saturday will be CW and Sunday will be CCW. COME ON OUT!!!!
I already bought 19, 20, and 21. That and I'm closing on a house so money is tight and another trip to MI is not in the budget.
I was thinking the same thing! The last session on Saturday was already a stretch for me....lol I need to work on my fitness more.:wtf: But I think I will give it a try anyway and do all 3 days. Should be fun.:thumb:
