That should do just fine. As you do more trackdays and progress I would invest in a better one though.

That looks like a great piece for street riding, though! Where did you pick it up? Price looks nice...

and make SURE whatever you buy, fits within your suit, or make sure you try on the suit WITH your selected armor ON....don't do like me and end up having to get ANOTHER suit because it didn't fit when you put the armor in!

dmason53, i bought it online a couple years ago. I originally got it for base jumping, but it was too bulky for that.
It does fit nicely under my leathers however.
There is another model that i remember seeing that has more vertebrae that go further down your lower back to your tailbone.

Congrats on doing your first track day. You'll have a blast! The back protector you have will work fine, but as Brett (Seca) said, an upgrade should be considered when possible. Knox makes a quality product.

Last September, I had an "incident", that resulted in a stoppie, ending in an endo, and the bike landed on my back. I had a Knox chest/back protector on, and although I was injured pretty bad, without that added protection, I might not be here typing this. 7 broken ribs, bruised lung, and ruptured spleen. No punctured lung or other organs though.

I'm not trying to scare you, I just want to convey the importance of quality gear on the track.
