Open to all makes, hope to see some of you folks there! Photos from last year's event http://ducsunlimited.com/gallery/album154?page=1
I'm in as well..... just signed up last week Friday for the 8th and 9th.... should be a blast!! Yeah, I was wondering how the demo rides work too.
Sean and I will be there. We will be pitting next to curveman99. Hope I get to ride a 848 duc lol. Im not sure how the test ride thing works or what models will even be there.
fun fun fun!! I'm doing the track on the 8th and demo riding on the 9th morning on a 848 and afternoon on a GT1000 Sport. "Update on 250 for Track" going to look at a 2004 Next Monday.
demo rides... you sign up at the start of the day for a specific bike and time slot. you join a group ride led by one of the club members around south haven. so no, you can't go on track with them. you need a cycle endorsement and street gear. as for the bikes, ducati brings their big semi full of bikes, but i'm not sure yet which ones. i'm sure they will cover all the product families. well, don't count on a desmosedici
figured I post up my photos from last year, what a great event! http://www.sakorasalon.com/image_galleries/STT_Rally_2008/index.html
it was fun to watch last year eddie (can't remember if you were there or not). did a le mans start and all. we put it on the poster this year, so maybe more people will join in! 8)
right on. last year it was a last minute thing the guys threw together. this year we'll have to plan for it....
So, are you able to do demo rides past 5pm? I'm signed up for both days to ride on the track. Or are the demo rides short enough so you can ride a Ducati inbetween sessions? I really want to ride the new Ducati Monster 1100 and I wouldn't mind riding either the 848 or 1198 as well
you may have to either miss a session, or go on the lunch break. gingerman has the extended quiet hour on sunday, so maybe try and get in there. our club does most of the planning for the event, but the demo ride portion is controlled entirely by Ducati, since they are on the hook for the liability.
no, no ,no...actually i think that off was a blessing, cause something clicked after, my next days at Grattan i was down running solid 31's from 39's and 40's last year
Generally speaking, crashing shouldn't cause something to click. That's backwards. Hopefully more laps and working on technique and all the details that go with it helped you drop the time. You were getting quicker before you went off, and were tenative after crashing (rightfully so), so I'm sure once you got past that, you were able to improve from there.
