I think he's talking about how it got knocked off track, not that your opening question was bad. I'm sorry your thread got hi-jacked so badly. It was not my intention.
You will get a TON of one on one at the Pro School. If you don't, talk to Mike and find out why. Ask as many questions as you can, and really, REALLY focus on what you want to improve on. In fact, take the lap timer off the bike. Oh, and 30 min sessions get long, so don't be afraid to take a break if you need to! You hit it right on the head... if you are riding so fast that smooth goes out the window, back it down a notch, and get back in that rhythm. Ride fast enough to push, but not so fast that you are just surviving each corner. A good coach will recognize that point and keep you there. We ALL have places to improve and that is what keeps us coming back! But, again, it sounds like you are approaching things the right way. I wish I could make that event, but that is the middle of exams for me. I really like the interaction of teaching at the pro schools. This whole being a college student again is hurting my riding time! Maybe later in May...
HEY EMD... Wanna do that track day on us?? http://www.sttforum.com/showthread.php?t=12291 Good luck and hope to see you out!
Man some ppl! Love the "knowledge" being thrown out here!! A decent rider with good fundamentals can take a street tire and ride comfortably in A. My Q2's which were my street tires and track tires (came stock on my 08 R6) took me to A and I had 5k miles (street 80 %) on them. Not saying I am a good rider by any means; just pointing out that today's tires have great capabilities and can perform well at a fast pace but the rider must have the fundamentals and willing to grow into the sport. I'm a curious guy and always look for direction and feedback.
Justin it depends on if my bike will be ready after my little get off I need a new header. Also I have a dented tank. Doesn't leak but will that exempt me from tracking. Sent from my HTC6600LVW using Tapatalk
I'll have a set of Super Sports 120/70 & 180/55 (4 days on them) for sale as soon as my new tires come in. Hopefully any day now.
First of all that comment was meant to be a joke! If certain people didn't keep pulling my chain most of said comments would not have happened. Every since I started posting on this board I have been under attack for one reason or another starting with my avatar pic and how I was leaning over too far and had bad body position! I'm pretty sure none of those people have ever gotten into the 1:40's at Sears Point much rather are even aware of which corner that is. I do not have a huge ego but I am very confident in my abilities on two and four wheels. That said, if your following everything I say here you might want to look for better entertainment. Oh, and one last thing........call me a douche one more time and see what happens.....just saying.
I think the previous post was a commitment to buy the first available take offs posted. Mine. For what ever the seller is asking plus shipping. $1200.00 shipped. Its a bargain if you don't think about it too much.
I know what corner that is... It's the corner with the douche who is leaning too far, has bad body position and a huge ego!! Joking bro, you sound like you have many yrs of on track experience like many others here; we could benefit from that. some ppl on here get pretty testy for lil to no reason. Let's all remember we are here to have fun and enjoy this sport which should bring us together. Talking trash amongst each other/bench racing or whatever should be taken lightly folks!! I like guys/girls faster than me; who can teach me something! Now about those $1200 take offs.....
I have NEVER been taken so seriously or out of context on any other boards I frequent as I have here. Some people need to chill out and realize most of the time I am just talking smack!! :sorry::cry::cry::cry:
Hmmm I see a theme here, but I tend to be taken seriously as well. I was told by a buddy of mine that nobody liked me because I talked about how great a rider I am. Honestly when I was talking if that was the way it was being taken I wish someone would have told me. I explained to him that if I could not be excited about my accomplishments on the track with this group I must be with the wrong group. When I got off the bike and finally got a knee down damn straight I was excited. I am excited every time I throw a leg over my bike. Looks to me that you just like to share your excitement in your accomplishments and what you have and that just rubs these guys the wrong way. Now I am really going to have to learn to r de faster to keep from getting that butt kicking that's headed my way.
