I had a great time Saturday!! Sunday I just wandered around; got special treatment from some employees (after making friends last October as I hobbled around after a crash weeks prior) and even got a grand tour of the facility :D :p The things I learned and saw were absolutely impressive! They added 1.5 miles of new drainage and irrigation systems over the winter to keep down on the weepers across the track; they even found a spring they had to redirect.

Saturday, being my first time back on the bike in 6 months was scary at first but as hoped, once I back out there, mere laps in I was comfortable. Glad to know I didn't forget how to do it! Getting used to a new bike wasn't bad but the changes are huge between the 05 R6s v. the 08 R6r. 08 was more planted in the turns and the rear wasn't hopping around on me, as I've become accustomed to over the years. Smooth power delivery too!

Great event as always, even better staff members - thanks STT!

I am still sore 2 days later after riding - I need to get back in shape.

Thanks, dude. Sadly I'll be back in Afghanistan in May, but I hope to be back for RA and Barber in August. Not sure what your work schedule is like, but it looks like my sis-in-law and I will be taking a ride up around Blood Mountain Thursday afternoon if you're interested.

Isn't it amazing that they continue to improve a facility that is so top notch to start with?

First post here and second track weekend at Barber/STT. I had an awesome time, Saturday was a blast for me and Sunday was even better till that crap came falling down the sky in the afternoon. You guys run a hell of an event there. I ran Novice and was surprised how well everything flowed with a mix of fast and slow riders. The coaches were awesome! Thanks to the Washington DC coach with girlfriend in Louisville/E-town (sorry, don't remember your name) and Vern. They gave me great advice and I learned a ton. Hope to make it back again this year!

Carl!!!!! Dude you were moving Sun morning. That one session was one of the most fun session of the weekend. I loved every time I looked back you were with me. Your passes looked great and you were very courteous to other riders. That speaks volumes to the staff guys out there with you.

Glad you were okay in your get off man, I sure hated to see your bike spinning on the track. Looks like she wasnt hurt to bad, she cranked right up and was rideable off the track.

As another coach said, your attitude was great! I really enjoyed the laps with ya man!:thumb:

I better see you again at the track....soon... with STT! :bounce:

It looked like they were building some new spectator seating at T10/11.

And I was surprised the track was so dry Saturday morning, probably due to the work done that Sherry mentioned.

Thanks STT and Barber Motorsports Park!

Yep they were building tent city over by the chicane and the rich party house on the inside by the turn going on the front straight.

Thanks, glad I could help and I enjoyed it also. :)

You made great progress over the weekend. And alot of the things we talked about are applicable at every track. Just remember that using all of the available track is just as important on corner entry as it is corner exit.

I hate your weekend ended the way it did. But at least you know what happened and can learn from it. Heal up and get back out there!

I had a great time sunday. I didn't know the track at all but the instructors were amazing. Had them lead me around and kept picking up the pace. I learned a lot. I knew my bike was amazing but just got a taste of how amazing she really is. I want to do another track day as soon as possible, but seeing how money is for me, its hard to justify when i can find a curvy road for the price of gas. I know what people are going to say about that. If i could spend the 130-245 a week i would be at every track near me, but i can't. Bills come first. I hear everyone tall about take it to the track but after seeing how expensive it is i see why the don't. I wish we could get it to where i was like going to a drag strip. Pay 10-20 and race till the track closed. I know thats not going to happen. but when i can i will come to the track it is so much better then racing on the road.

Barber is one of the most expensive tracks stt uses.
Tally is $100 cheaper per day.
