Ok. Regardless, the bike in front of me was the student he was following. So now what? Like I said earlier, I'm over it. There is no justification for what happened. Speed Academy has reached out to me and it's all good. The only thing I was pissed about was he, as a control rider, never came and talked with me about it. To me it shows his character and is duely noted.
Your assessment is correct except for one thing: Any instructor on track at my event is expected to keep enough "in reserve" to avoid unexpected situations such as this. As far as I am concerned, this incident is in-excusable and exhibits extremely poor judgement. All of my instructors know I hold them to a VERY high standard. In the past when something like this happens, the instructor is generally fired before the end of the day, or at the end of the day. I don't really enjoy doing that.... and I try to by as nice as I can.... but I have my limits. In this instance the instructor involved was working with JDSA. I can assure you that both STT and JDSA take this matter very seriously and you will not see the instructor involved at track with us again. regards, t
I think I'm in, too... for November. There were some real pack-ups in some of the corners that day, and there were times I held way back because I could see rapid closing in the corner with some of the riders not running very predictable lines. Even in advanced class, I think we still need to keep in mind... the bike in front always has the line. And sometimes, it's going to be a sketchy line.
I agree! and another thing to keep in mind, just because you know the track well doesn't mean everyone else does too. Especially in the morning sessions remember, it may be someone's first time on the track and they are still trying to put it together.
I am in for Sat in Nov. It will be my first time at RA. I will be looking for a tow around in I group!
I'm going to try and make it back in November as well. For some reason after my first visit to RA on the 16th i actually felt like a better rider. not sure if thats true or not but i felt that i became a better rider anyway. I also managed to catch a glimpse of Marc in turn 7 and the back straight. Glad i took his advice and stayed in intermediate instead of signing up for novice since it was a new track to me. It took 2-3 sessions to figure things out but i had a blast and pitted with some great folks. :thumb:
Thought i sent you a message but i will definitely let you know if i go this November. Its my anniversary weekend so we shall see!
